Anyone been to PortAventura???

Hello,

Cos we cannot afford to go to Florida next year (been last 2 years, dd1 starts school on Sept, so now limited to when we can go and we are a party of 5!!!!) So off to Costa Dorada next Aug and plan to visit Port Aventura - anyone been, what is it like - at least we will get a coaster fix!!!! (but really want a Disney fix!!!!)

Also we are looking into going to Disneyland Paris in April - cos we have to get our Disney fix!!!

We stayed on site at the Port Aventua hotel and it was lovely (I thought it looked like the Portofino Hotel (although never stayed there!!). Although it is owned by Universal Studios it is nothing like Universal in Orlando or Hollywood as I believe it was bought out after it was built.

If you are staying near by and having the beach holiday too I am sure you will have a great time. One of the reasons we liked this theme park so much was that it stayed open until midnight and you could go on the rides in the evening when it is cooler and the eveing atmospheare was excellent. There is a water park too. The park is not that big and you do not need more than a couple of days.
