 Just wondering if anyone has been to Margaritaville in Key West???? That is one place I want a see when I am in Key West. I want to get me a few souvenirs.

If it crowded and really popular or pretty easy place to visit??

Can you walk there from port?

Thanks for the help.....:wave2:

Yes you can walk to the bar from the port. Lots of souvenirs. My wife and I had a burger and a margarita and it was good. Reasonably priced. Great laid back atmosphere with Jimmy Buffett music playing in the background. We waited for only 10-15 minutes for a table around lunch time. I would recommend it especially if you have never been there. Lots of cool open air bars down Duval street. My wife and I really enjoyed Key West.

Definately go..lots of fun.

Don't forget to checkout Hogs Breath Saloon, Sloppy Joe's and I believe it is Carolyn's (real small..all outside..had the packer game playing when we were there..it was great)

Oh, and if you want the best fish sandwich..rent a cart for an hour or so and hop over to Bo's fish market..I think that is the name..Looks like a pile of stuff on the roadside, restaurant is inside..wonderful food, nice people.

yes, It's just a few blocks from the port. We went there 2 years ago, but it was so crowded we didn't go in, but did browse in the gift shop, which is somewhat separate from the bar.

Maybe my friend an I will get an early start that day and head there first......:p I have to have a margarita there!

We have a girl trip planned on RCCL with no kido's!! So I can really check out the town.

I also just booked a (family) Disney Eastern for Oct 2005 since I will be in Key West and Cozumel in January...:wave2:

We cruised RCI a few yrs back and had lunch at JB's in Key West. We enjoyed kicking back, having a cheeseburger in Paradise, a margarita, some key lime pie, listening to some JB tunes and of course buying a couple Tshirts. We're looking forward to visiting JB's next month in Jamaica. Hey, we may be seniors, but love his music and like they say....you only go around once!! Enjoy!!! :goodvibes

Is it suitable for a 6 year old or is there a particular time that children should not go here??? - Mike

Hi,

Margaritaville is suitable for a 6 year old during the day. I've been to Key West many times (honeymooned there in fact) and went to Margaritaville for lunch - plenty of families with children of all ages. I wouldn't bring any child to the Duval street area at night, however.

Thanks gottaluvdis. Thats what I was hoping the response would be. We are just taking the Conch Train tour and then planning on walking around shopping\drinking\eating and one of our planned stops was to stop here for a drink\snack\Tshirt. We plan on being back on the ship by dinner/sunset. Thanks again - Mike
