We visited Hong Kong four years ago when my brother and his family were living out there.
I have to admit it was somewhere I'd never thought about visiting, even though my bro lived out there for thirteen years - what a mistake! It's one of the most interesting places we've ever been to
We loved all the different areas, although I must admit it was great staying in their apartment on the Peak. One side looked over the city with all the coloured lights changing at night, the other side onto the mountain where you could watch the eagles soaring all day.
We visited Stanley Market (make sure you barter) - exit from the back of that and you come out onto this lovely beach area with bistros - it was just like being in the Meditteranean. We had to buy a new suitcase because of all the things we brought back!
We took the Star Ferry over to Kowloon where we then took the MTR and visited a couple of temples and beautiful gardens. If you go upstairs on the ferry, and that's first class, it's only something like 20p each!
Head up to the Peak at night on the mountain railway - the sights and colours from the lit up buildings are amazing. I would highly recommend Cafe Deco up the top - fantastic food, the most amazing views.
My brother was one of the architects of Hong Kong Disney, and they have just returned from a three week trip back to see it again, plus spending a couple of weeks in their house in the Philippines. I am awaiting their photos to see a picture of "my" lamppost (I helped to design it) in Main Street DisneyHK

I can't wait to visit again.
One of my last memories was travelling on the train to the airport - the train has seatback TVs and there we were, at 6.30am on a train in Hong Kong watching Mr Bean
Have a great time out there.
