How is it. Trying to pick out a MGM place to eat. Is it breakfast lunch and dinner buffet there ?

How is the food and atmosphere?

Went to Hollywood and Vine in August, just as great as I remembered it! The dinner buffet is great, lots of different kinds of foods, you definitley won't leave hunry! :goodvibes The atmosphere is good too. Not over the top, but still cute. I highly recommend it!

They just serve dinner.

We tried it for the first time in Sept. It was good, and the Fantasmic plan is a plus.

What do they do during Breakfast, and Lunch?

haven't been lately, but was two years ago and will be in about 3 weeks!! We love it there, lots of fun and good food.

Went in Oct, it was very good. :Pinkbounc

We went in October for the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

The food was good - nice variety. Service was good. Atmosphere was just so-so, but we weren't there for atmosphere so we didn't care! :rotfl:

I will say the day we went it was COLD in there. And the chairs are metal. It was quite chilly! I really enjoyed our meal but I probably would have enjoyed it more if I brought a jacket! DS is always freezing so he was a little uncomfortable.

DH LOVES buffets, so he just thought this place was the best. We'll probably go back on our next trip because we all enjoyed it.

If you have kids, don't miss the kids section at the end of the "big kids" lines (meatballs, chicken strips, mac & cheese, etc.).

Went in June for the 1st time. It was good. The kids enjoyed it as did I and DH.

I went to Hollywood and Vine once and liked it, but I checked out 50's Prime Time last time I went and LOVED it

I'm sorry to have to cast a NO vote for Hollywood and Vine. My Ds (15) and I were there in June and were very disappointed. They changed their menu from a couple of years ago and we found very little that we liked. I ended up eating a lot of salmon. It was good....but how much salmon can you eat? My DS could barely find anything to eat for his meal but enjoyed the desserts. We came out of there agreeing we would never go back again. The 50's Prime Time is about 1000% better.....food and atmosphere.

My one and only visit to H&V was back in "99" and I will never return. Thought the food was awful.

I'm not a fan of the restaurants at MGM. I usually eat there before arriving or after leaving.

I totally agree with you about the 50's prime time! While being on our honeymoon, my Dh and I went to both Prime Time and Hollywood & Vine. We were wearing our "mickey wedding" hats, again, on our honeymoon. One of the waitresses at H&V was Blatantly hitting on my husband. It was so bad that one of the other waiters actually turned around and said "WILL YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE! THEY'RE ON THEIR HONEYMOON!" The food was ok, but it was more like cafeteria food. Prime Time's food actually tasted like homemade food, and the restaurant itself has a much better atmosphere. H&V used to be one of my favorite places to go, but not anymore.

H&V is open for breakfast , lunch and dinner

B&L are character meals with jojo and friends and the Little Einsteins

dinner has no characters :)

I haven't been since 2008 over Easter . This is our new favortie place to eat at Disney , we did it mainly last time for the pre-seating to Fantasmic but it turned out to be the one to have the best buffets I've ever eaten. We love , love the food and will def. be booking it for 2009. (By the way we ate there for dinner forgot to metion that at the beinging . LOL ) Hope u & your family get to book it too , so you don't miss out on the amazing food !:thumbsup2

We went during our Christmas vacation and had a wonderful meal, everything was fresh and delicious! We go with the Fantasmic package every year and honestly have never had a bad experience, both food and service have been very good and it is a very good value. WDW Today podcast recently did a review of H & V and gave it a very positive B+ rating. pixiedust:

I really don't understand the hate I see for H&V on these boards. My previous two trips to WDW didn't do ADRs, and aside from some Epcot (San Angel and Alfredo's) places, H&V was the only TS restaurant we were able to get "on the fly", twice over the to trips, both for dinner.

Was it fantastic? No, but I had no complaints about it either. I found it to be a pleasant experience with plenty of choices both times.
