We are going home for New Years Eve this year so, for our summer holidays, the ford family (Old man, DW, DD20, DD19, DD16) are planning on seeing other parts of the US.
We are staying in DC for a while then on to New Orleans for a few days (both in hotels). We are then heading to the Williamsburg area of Virginia and are planning on renting a two bedroom apartment at the Sunterra resort, Greensprings Plantation. This looks to be a poor man's DVC but we only need a base to explore the area from and hit the malls.
Anyone stayed there?
Thanks for your thoughts.

My father and stepmother have a timeshare there. It is fairly new, and they like it a lot. Beware, summer in Williamsburg is hot and humid. But, if you like history, it is a great area to visit.

just don't buy there - Williamsburg is like Orlando - even a good or nice timeshare can trade into a great timeshare there - the Marriott is very nice!!!

I like Jamestown and York - Colonial Williamburg - I liked the free stuff better than the paid stuff - but mother and her wheelchair were a problem here.

bush gardens is very nice - but be prepared to walk (like at WDW) but a ton of hills....

We stayed there this past December. It is fine but not in the same class as the DVC resorts in which I've stayed. We went via a II Getaway so our cost for the week was $275-- surely couldn't complain at that price. While we were in town we drove by the Marriott at Ford Colony that spiceycat mentioned-- will definitely try to stay there next time we go back.
