Thinking about a family vacation there this summer but I have no idea where to go? I would want to be by beautiful caribbean beaches. Any suggestions on where to search? What to do? Where to stay? We have 2 kids ages 11 & 13.

Thank you

I thought about it too. I have a bunch of co workers who have been there and all of them love it.

Summer is rainy season though. Sometimes it's a little sometimes all day.
Every person I know have gone in march or April.

Even the TA I contacted tried to steer me away from visiting in the summer.

Oh....good to know!

We went a year ago during New Years week. We went to Arenal volcano area for 3 nights. We did whitewater rafting and waterfall rape, ling. it rained most of the time we were there, but it was in the 70's and we were fine. Also we did all water based activities there. It was very foggy and we never saw the top of the volcano.
We then went south to Manuel Antonio national park area. Gorgeous beach and fun things to do there. Good fishing alo for my husband and son. It was 90's there. Very nice and warm. We also had a little rain here but only one evening and it poured the rest of the night.

My nephew's wife is from there, they went last year so she could visit family and stayed in the area near Arenal Volcano and loved it, not near a beach, but thermal hot springs, white water rafting, zip lines, wheel atv trails, and very inexpensive. I checked the hotel he stayed at on trip advisor and now I want to go there too. They stayed at Hotel Mountain Paradise.
