anyone been to CBR recently?

Don't know if this is correct place, this is my first post. We are a about a week away from a MUCH needed vacation. We have stayed at CBR 2x before ( about 7 yrs ago) and decided more days and a mod. resort worked well for this trip. I booked it and am excited, but then got nervous when I read a (couple of neg. reviews about CBR on a diff. website. 2 reports of bedbugs bedbug registry) and one about resort not being very clean - some maids doing a good job/ others not and filthy rooms). Now I am nervous. Anybody got some feedback. I know with so many visitors exceptions are possible, and perhaps those bad reviews were exceptions or disgruntled tourists that would never be happy. Just after caring for my mom (passed last summer) and now helping care for dad, I just soooo want a rest and a magical, fun, relaxing time with my husband and teens. Any comments or reports?

We stayed at CBR last November and really enjoyed it.
I've learned not to really pay attention to negative reviews. It's much more likely for someone to post a review of a negative experience rather than a positive experience. Obviously, there are some exceptions where there are legitimate problems, but Disney hotels are so expensive that if a bad experience was the norm, nobody would stay there.

We had absolutely no problems when we stayed there. Our room was perfectly clean every day when we got back, and every Cast Member we came across was very friendly.

Actually, the night we got there we had a fantastic experience with bell services. We took Magical Express from the airport, and our arrival time was fairly late in the day. We called up to Bell Services to let them know to hold our luggage, until the morning, when it came later, because we were going to sleep. Probably 2 minutes later they called back to let us know it just got there and they could bring it to us if we wanted it. Maybe 5 minutes later they drove up with our luggage and dropped it off. They could have waited until the morning, but they didn't. It was definitely nicer to have our bags that evening as opposed to waiting for them the next morning, even though we had packed a days worth of clothes in our carry on luggage.

I understand your concern. It's always frustrating to read a poor review, but you'd probably find equally as many negative reviews for every other hotel on the property.

This is why I have such a hard time making a decision about where to stay. We stayed at CBR in 2009, and had a wonderful experience ! There isn't a single negative thing I have to say about the resort. I had heard about how large it was and how the walk to the busses was long, but we never had any trouble (we stayed in Aruba).

We stayed there in October of 2009 and loved it!! Very well maintained (recent room rehabs) and the grounds are very clean and kept up. I would have no reservations about staying there again and have even recommended it to many friends and family.

Sorry this is so late. However, I wanted to follow up after my trip regarding the questions I posed. CBR was just as wonderful as always. No issues. No bugs, very clean - even saw 2 bunnies while there! Busses a little slower than I remembered, but there were several tour groups staying there at the same time. No big deal really. Thanks for everyone's imput. It was a very good trip.

Thanks for the update. We are staying there for the 1st time in January and I can deal with a lot but bedbugs are a deal breaker!!

No bed bugs. We were there Sept 11th -16th.

The room was clean. The furnishings are a little worn but they are clean.

Your teens will LOVE the pool! the pool bar was also great for a moderate, you can get non alcoholic drinks too. The food court had tons of choices and everything we ate was good.

You will have a great time.

Just like any vacation the staff can make or break it if there is a problem. We were the unlucky ones that had problems with our room (front hotel door would not lock and the front desk didn't care at first, I had to insist on help ) Of course if we had not had problems we would have a different opinion. As it stands we wont be back to CBR. But that doesn't mean everything was negative, just disney has lots of other resorts for us to try.
