Hi all, DH and I are pescatarian so we only eat veggies and seafood. We are trying to figure out when to eat dinner at Boma (we are staying at AKL). The last rotation I saw posted was from 2005 so I was wondering if anyone could report what seafood (if any) was on the buffet on their recent trip and what day of the week it was?

Specifically I'm looking for the salmon on the carving station (vs. prime rib or steak). Is it still offered on any day? In 2005 it was on Menu One (Tuesday/Friday). I recently saw a report that one type of salmon (w/ tamarind) was offered on a Sunday but I know those vary.

While I'm asking anyway, could you please tell me if the coconut curry seafood soup was available?

We ate at Boma on 3/27/10 and there was a pecan encrusted salmon and a seafood curry soup. We have also dined on a Sat. in Jan. and a Tues. last Sept. and have always been offered some type of salmon. Also lots of great salads and legume type spreads. HTH:)

Dined at Boma in early March. Although I'm not much of a fish person, (but love the beef) I do recall a salmon dish and a talapia dish. I am sure you will find what you are looking for since such a restaraunt needs to cater to all tastes. Enjoy your vacation. :cool1:

Thanks, folks.

I'm not worried about finding something to eat there because I know there's always tons of yummy things; I'm just trying to find out if there are still nights that salmon is the meat served on the carving station with a wide variety of accompaniments. You can see the old rotation list (from 2004) here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=50646
Choice of Salmon
BBQ Tamarind Salmon
Coconut Curry Salmon
Banana Wrap Salmon
Nut Crusted Salmon
Moroccan Almond Salmon
Banana Curried Salmon

What day of the week do you have scheduled?
Right now it's looking like Tuesday, but we could do Thursday instead. Or maybe Monday. We're flexible and there's only 2 of us and since it's at our hotel, we can take a really late reservation.

I'm sure we'll love it whenever we go, but if there's still a night that salmon is the specialty, we'd try to go on that night if we could.

I went on a Sunday in January. No fish that night. Im not sure what days Sunday corresponds with. You should be able to call the restuarant, maybe?? And find out. Thats what I would do since your trip focuses on their seafood. :thumbsup2

I haven't seen an updated rotation since that OLD one. I agree with Bethpremier that contacting the restaurant will give you the best information.
