I've read on another forum that the Princess Storybook breakfast now includes the photograph package and so they have increased their price. I looked at both wdwinfo and allearsnet for the new price and I don't see that either place lists the included photo package, so I can't tell if the $22.99 breakfast price is the new price or the old price?

Also.....how was the food at breakfast?

Thanks!

I really can't tell you what the price was since we ate there with the Dp this past Wed.The food was good, but the character interaction was well worth the price. We saw ..Belle in the lobby( photo was with her) Mulan,Aurora,Jasmine,Snow White. They spent a lot of time at our table.I would definitely do this over Crts again.

I think that's the new price that includes the photo package.

We did this last January for a late lunch and had a HORRIBLE experience! It was so bad that the manager comp'ed the entire meal....

Eek, can you tell me what was so horrible?

Sure... I posted this in another thread earlier, but I can't find it now! It's just our experience last time. The year before, we liked it.

To start the story, we got food poisoning from a restaurant at Downtown Disney, and had to cancel the plans for a special first birthday for our daughter at Akershus the next day. Considering the situation, they did wave the cancellation fee. We were excited that we were able to reschedule for a few days later when everyone felt better.

Our reservation time was for 2:40pm and the last seating for lunch was 2:50, then they have a break and switch to dinner. We had our photos taken with Belle and went into the restaurant. They showed us to the table in the doorway of an otherwise empty restaurant. It was also in the corner - a VERY dirty corner. My husband felt like he was sitting in a trash pile with pieces of bread and other appetizers and dirty napkins on the floor. We asked for another table, but they balked at the request so we took that table. We had to squeeze my daughter's high chair into either the trash pile corner or into the aisle - we chose the corner where she wouldn’t get bumped.

The waitress, who didn’t seem to speak English real well, came to take our drink and food orders. We were barely settled so we just did drinks first. When she came back for our food orders she told us that we “have to order now or the food will go bad.” She may have said something different, but that’s what most of the group heard! Two days after food poisoning, that’s NOT what you want to hear!

They then rushed the princesses around (the 4 of them came once only). I took my daughter to be changed and when I got back the food was there. I didn't even have time to have any of the appetizers from the appetizer bar. The appetizer bar consisted of cold Norwegian cheeses and meats, pasta salad and bread.

For our entrée, most of us had the bar-b-q pulled pork. When it arrived, it was barely warm! Needless to say, a few days after the food poisoning, I couldn't stomach barely warm meat...

You can buy birthday cakes (round ones to be shared by everyone) if you're celebrating a birthday. We were told by our concierge to just ask when we got there. We decided on the smallest one that was around $25 and 8 inches across. We asked for this when we checked in and then also asked our waitress. She totally forgot to bring the cake and then disappeared. My mother-in-law asked another waitress about it. Our waitress then brought out a cupcake. When questioned if this was the cake she said we asked for a "cupcake." We’re thinking “this is $25??” The cupcake was decorated with gummy bears. YOU DON’T GIVE GUMMY BEARS TO A BABY!

She then brought the bill with her 18% gratuity added on (for a party of 6 or more). We then talked to management and they did agree that this was unacceptable and comp'ed the entire meal. We were treated like just another quick way to make a bunch of money at the end of lunch. It was horrible!

These should be the current prices for Akershaus. We had breakfast there in June and thought it was great! Food was very good, princesses were great, our server was average -- seemed a little rushed.

I found this info on allears restaurant update page from January 2008. These prices don't totally match what allears has on their page for the restaurant (the prices below are higher). I'd call Disney dining to verify, but I think the ones below are correct - they are about $6 pp higher (for the adults only I think) compared with what's on the allears restaurant page. And of course, don't forget if you go during any holiday surcharge periods, the price will be even higher.

JANUARY 2008

A photo package will be included for ALL reservations made for April 27, 2008 and beyond for Princess Storybook Dining at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot. Prices are as follows:

Lunch: $30.99 ages 10 and older; $13.99 ages 3-9
Dinner: $35.99 ages 10 and older; $14.99 ages 3-9

Price includes non-specialty, non-alcoholic drinks (sodas, coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, punch, milk). Tax and gratuity are NOT included.

We just ate there 9-23-08 on the DxDP. I didn't realize we were getting a photo. The guy came around and handed it to us so I took it. I looked at the receipt and the wording at the top about paying cashier had been crossed out. I'd rather spend my time waiting in line to see the Princesses at Mickey's Toontown fair than do Akershus again. The food was excellent. The service from Trine top notch. The building was interesting (and clean). The problem was that it is loud, crowded, and very rushed. Our ADR was for 11:50am. We had to wait in a line to give our name. We had to wait in a line to get in after that to see Belle. We saw Belle for the portrait and then Jasmine, Aurora, Cinderella, and Ariel during lunch. At Mickey's Toontown Fair we saw Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora. My DD only wanted to see Aurora which was why we did Akershus -- it was the only meal they guaranteed she'd be at but then she also showed up at CRT.

So, if this character meal now includes a photo, does that mean it costs 2 credits for the DDP?

When we did Akerhaus in November 2007, they came around with the pics, but I assumed it cost extra. So, are the pics free (well, included in your dinner price?)

So, I'm asking:
- how many DDP credits is dinner
- is the picture free

We have an ADR for dinner here in November.

TIA

The Akershus meal is still one TS credit. The photo package is included with the meal.

Our experience with Akershus was totally magical. My daughter felt it was the absolute best place she has ever been. We had breakfast before the park opened. The place was crowded and the high ceilings do contribute to a noise factor.

Belle was in the lobby greeting and posing for the photo packages. Sleeping Beauty, Jasmin, Snow White and Mulan (whom I've been informed by DD6 is not technically a princess). The princesses each came around table to table and posed for lots of photos. They were very patient as my daughter had a lot to tell each of them.

On to the food... I love bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and the like anyway so to me it was great. If you want more just mention it to your server and he/she will be right back with another serving plate. Our waiter had great flourish and continually referred to my daughter as "M'Lady" which she totally loved.
