Tell me about TOURS!

DH and I are going to be at Disneyland for one day in April for our 15th wedding anniversary. We go every year and in fact will be there with out little one in February for 5 days... so we are looking for a different, more grown up special thing to do in April.

We already have hotel and transportation.

Thanks!

Anyone?

We are thinking about the magic dreams tour... it doesn't seem as "backstage as WDW tours. It's around $60, but we have a Disney Visa, so we get 20% off. Will it be worth it?

The only tour I've done is the holiday tour at Xmas. But I've heard the segway tour in dca is fun.

i did the walk in walt's footsteps tour and would say it was good. i wasn't blown away by it, but the guide was really knowledgeable and answered the questions we all had. i feel like i know a lot about disney, but half of the information included things that were pretty new to me.

i guess it depends on what you know about the parks and walt disney.

We know quite a bit, which is why some sort of backstage tour sounds fun although this sound less back stage than WDW like I said.

Not interested in the segway tour...

Anyone hired the personal tour guide?

Unfortunately, Disneyland doesn't offer any type of 'backstage' tour. I think ABD has one included in their itinerary, but you'd have to book the entire tour package, which includes more than just Disneyland.

I've enjoyed the Disneyland tours I've taken, and for one of the DISDiva's trips we did the personal tour guides. The tour was fun, but you'll get far more out of it if you have a specific goal in mind. -- i.e. you want to know all about the trains, you collect Disneyana and would like an expert, you want 'the History' of the park, you want trivia on the attractions. Whatever. The more specific you can be on what you want, the better your experience should be.

I highly recommend the Cruzin' California Adventure Segway tour. It was the highlight of our trip...worth every cent!

Do you mean the Discover the Magic Tour? I haven't been on it but I believe that one is designed to focus on the kids doing a scavenger hunt type of thing. If you're looking for a more "grown up" thing to do then I don't think I would go on that tour. I think that the walk in walt's footsteps or segway tour would be best or you could do the VIP tour.

Good luck making a decision and have a great trip!

We did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour for our 25th Anniversary last March. We are die-hard Disney fans & disney trivia so this was the perfect tour for us. The tour guides are very knowledgable & make the tours fun & interesting. If you have any interest in Club 33, this tour will take you into the lobby & give you lots of facts & history of the club.......we knew this would be the only way we'd ever walk thru that door......lol

Happy Anniversary & enjoy your trip!!

THanks! And we will for sure do STAR TOURS! LOL!

I am thinking the tour doesn't really seem to offer us much... hmmmm. any other ideas for more adult or special things we can do for our 15th wedding anniversary without the little one?
