Hi, we are looking at going for a week at the end of Nov which we have realised is Thanksgiving week. Has anyone been around this time of year - is it busy?

Also is there anythind special on in the parks / resort to celebrate it? I think it would be quite a nice time to go, and hopefully see the start of the xmas season!

We have been for thanksgiving before and have booked to go back this year. The parks are quite busy but if you go early and have ADR's they are not a problem. The temperature is very pleasant so you will be comfortable even if you do have to queue for any of the attractions.

Yeah I'm thinking it may be nice to go at that time of year - we have been pricing New York and 3 nights in NY are working out the same price as 1 week in WDW! :thumbsup2

Bumping - has anyone else been at this time and has any thoughts?

Thanks :cheer2:

we went on thanksgiving a few years back, the friday after is great for sales!!! we landed on thanksgiving so were up super early on the friday and hit the sales. it was great

we went over thankgiving 3 years ago, personally i wouldnt go again, i just think its too busy, the rides queues are really long and i dont like the parks being that crowded. but i always go off season so am used to it being quieter.

I've read quite a bit about the sales & I'm thinking it would be a great chance to get my xmas shopping done! Were the xmas decs up after thanksgiving?

yes all decs up and we saw the osbourne lights at hs, I didnt think it was very busy but def worth seeing all the decs and or course the sales

I would go again that time but we got married out there in sep so we will go that time of year from now

We arrived last year (2008) on Friday after Thanksgiving (which was obviously the day before). We avided the Disney parks for the weekend and did Universal and Sea World and they were EMPTY. The following week (at WDW) the crowds were bigger than I expected but manageble. The weather was warm during the day but chilly at night. In fact, the night we went to MVMCP was freezing (Dec 2) and we wore gloves and scarves for the whole party. It was well worth it though!!!

I was just going to mention the sales. Black Friday is the biggest sales time in the US ( like our January sales) you can pick up some amasing bargains.
DW got a scrapbooking printer thing for about a third of the normal price over here.:thumbsup2

We arrived in Orlando on the Sunday after thanksgiving following our cruise and the parks were quite busy that week, but very manageable as long as you arrive early.

We were at MVMCP the same night and it was freezing!! think we only wore jumpers a handful of times and that night we had to buy scarves.
