Anyone back from Westgate Vacation Villas recently?

The search function has been disabled quite often lately. Otherwise I wouldn't ask the question.

In the past, there have been some negative comments about the maintenance of the villas, but perhaps this is old news. Maybe they have upgraded their services. Can anyone help with recent information?

I stayed in Westgate Lakes (on Turkey Lake Road) during August 2003. It was nice. I didn't have one problem. Check in was smooth. My room was very clean and nice. We were at the end (near the restuarant) so it was pretty quiet. I stayed there before at poolside (beautiful view) but EXTREMELY noisy. I even went to the presentation. It wasn't nearly as hard as some say. Matter of fact, it was the second best I'd sat in (I've been to quit a few and Wyndam Palms and Country Club was the best - 82 minutes on the nose $120 dollars cash!!). I would stay there (Westgate) again especially for the price (8 days 7 nights $560).

I have also heard about Westgate Villas near Disney (They have several near Universal Studios). I heard that the Villas are older, not as modern, but bigger. I've read about the pest issues and smells also. But at the same time I've read good and bad reviews from Tripadvisers. com (i think that's the web site). I would conclude that some days are better than others. Hope this helps.

Also, check the other thread about your question on the $20.04 rate for DTD Courtyard by Marriott.

Cheers!
