Any info floating around out there as to the RAC + SW Airlines 'expansion' coming in January?????????????
We can hope right?
Happy New Year!:hippie:

I was just there..no word on any further expansion, other than 'it will most likely happen down the road'. That's about as definitive as the RAC people are getting.
Yes, it would be nice to be able to check our bags with SW right at the resort. But right now....it's not possible outside of the value resorts.

I don't think there are even any rumors about expansion at this point.

I used RAC for the first time earlier this month at All-Star Sports and it was AWESOME!:)

No more "lugging" my luggage to the ME bus and no more standing in line at the Southwest counter at OIA!:)

I asked about RAC expansion for SW as we left the Polynesian last Saturday. We flew Jetblue this trip but are flying SW in April. They said something like "maybe later in 2010" but seemed to be guessing. I wouldn't count on it happening any time soon.

I was there 2 weeks ago (BWV) and asked too and was told they are working on it. I was booked on SW for my return flight for March and I've since switched it to Jetblue as I didn't want to take a chance. RAC is a priority for us and well worth the extra $5 of flying JB instead of SW home in March. We do fly SW TO MCO often, but never home.

The way I figure it is thus.....I can bring check one bag free with Jetblue, but get RAC for my flight home, or I can bring two checked bags, free, with SW, but lug them back to MCO. There are times when just one checked bag will work. But if I'm bringing my Aero bed, I usually need a second bag for that.
It's just not that big a deal. At some point, SW and RAC will be available at all resorts. It's just a question of when. I think we'll suddenly hear that it is an option. I doubt we'll hear that 'SW is a participating airline at every resort starting on July 1' or such.
