Just wondering how it is!

We spent this evening at the Food and Wine Festival. We did TWO cooking demonstrations. They were not full and they are WELL worth going too.... free food too!

The booths have much of the same foods as last year, but now they have Ireland. Epcot was packed with people, but the lines weren't too long. Kool and the Gang played at the American Pavilion.

It was a great evening and we had so much fun, we're going to spend the day there tomorrow as well!

Yes I spent part of the evening at Food and Wine. Some of the booths are in different locations than they were last year. I think they added several new booths this year.

The Ice Wine and the Chocolate Creme Brulee were my favorites. I will be going back on Monday. I don't want to experience the crowds on the weekends.

I also do like the drunks that seem to come out during Food and Wine especially on the weekends.

Those are called Cast Members.. ::yes:: :hyper:

Seriously, though, everyone should try the Woodchuck Granny Smith Cider at the Beer Garden. I do not like beer but this one was really good.

safetymom,

I read about Ice Wine about a year ago and am excited to try it at the F&W festival - would you say it was sweet, like a dessert wine? I am trying to think of what to pair it with foodwise?

thanks!

Rhonna , yes it was very sweet and smooth.

Samirella , I wish it was CM's. I have seen some pretty nasty drunks at Food and Wine.

Ice wine is wondeful! I have had it many times and the process in which it is made is very interesting...

Oh please tell me they have cheddar cheese soup over by Canada this year. This was my favorite last year. And the beef stroganoff was a close second. I tried the recipe at home........i'm better off getting at Epcot, mine was terrible.

Yes they have the Cheddar cheese soup.

I was hoping for the onion tart in France but they didn't have it this year. I have the recipe but it makes a large amount.

So what kind of candy is this that you are showing in your signature? Is it a caramel, a chocolate or what? Please do tell. I am always looking for the wodnerful things you can buy in each country. Unfortunately, my son got hooked on the clothing in Norway this past year, candy would be much cheaper.

I was wondering about that candy also - Might have to jot that down & check it out in a couple weeks...

Do they have the grapefruit cake this year? I don't remember seeing it on the price list.

The candies are Smor Buxx and you can get them in the Norway gift shop. They are chocolate covered caramel chews! YUMMMMY!

Princess Pooh, I didn't see grapefruit cake anywhere but it sounds delicious!!!!

Getting excited! 12 more days here:bounce:

Is the Samuel Adams beer tent back this year? That was DH favorite thing last year

I think I saw a Sam Adams beer tent. I didn't go into it though since I did some wine tasting before that.

Didn't see any drunks, but I was there during the day and left by early afternoon. Well, I did hear one older lady say that she couldn't walk straight and then I saw the Australian wine tasting area and I figured she'd just cme out of there. lol

We're vegetarian so have a more limited selection of food, but still was full after going around the countries once for food and another for a few desserts.

We would have stayed longer, but were SO hot (this was Friday).
