Also back last night from a weeklong BCV stay (Oct 6-13).
Didn't notice the campfires as we were really burning the candle at both ends this trip, but there were a lot more activities at the pool and in the resort.
They had Bingo at the pool--people played while they stood in the water. It cost $1 per card, which my DH thought was lousy, but they had a table full of prizes that the kids could pick from. DD won one game and picked a board game called Mall Madness (I had trouble packing it!). A friends' DD picked an Idog. They had lots of stuff. They also had line dancing and a music booth at the pool. They had characters in the Lobby at the Beach Club, Lilo and Stich one day. I don't know who Mike is, but the guy we usually see there, Raoul, wasn't around.
There were also lessons in making towel animals all day on Wednesday. This was located in the BCV building--the room near the BCV pool, so I don't know if this was for all guests or just BCV. DD made a couple and she got to keep them, we brought them home.
Not to hijack your thread, but while I'm posting, just one word about the new check-in at the BCV: Great! We got there around 11:30, and someone at the desk took my husband's license and CC and asked us to go sit in the room next to the elevator. The room was stocked with ice water and green apples and the TV was showing Mickey cartoons. About 5 or so minutes later, the desk clerk came back with the whole package, our keys, our room number and the signature card. DH signed and we were done. It was very relaxing, and since we had left our house at 4:00 am to catch an early flight, we were really thankful that we didn't have to stand in line at the BC. Best of all, our room was ready, and it was in great shape!
