Anyone already have a vacation booked and THEN get a code?

We booked our trip for December 10 - 15 - POR. Yay!!

DH said to me: why would Disney send us a code in the mail to apply to our rate if we're already booked? Got me thinking...

Anyone ever get one on a postcard or something after booking? Here's hoping for general public codes.

I have had my vacation booked since last September for this August. I have gotten the 40% of postcard and by DH got another postcard in the mail for a different promotion. None of these promotions have worked out for us, but there hasn't been anything yet posted that would work for us.

How do you get coupon codes?? I've heard numerous people on these boards talk about it and I've never had the opportunity to see one/get one. Is it strictly random, luck of the draw? Do you have to be on a special mailing list?

I also never received any discounts by postcard or e-mail either. I have also never seen anyone say they had discounts on GF, POLY or CONT.

Has anyone any feed back?

I just received an email code to upgrade from the All Star Sports to either Saratoga Springs or Old Key West....but the fine print says that no other discounts will apply. I already booked free dining for our trip, so I do not think we will be taking Disney up on their offer....

Disney is sending these emails to people who have a value resort booked for the free dining - values are filling and they are giving those who booked early a chance for a free upgrade - YOU KEEP THE FREE DINIG!

Plenty of people have taken advantage of this and kept free dining, give them a call and check it out

I'm on hold right now doing exactly this! I read the email to mean the same thing cropper thought, but they seem to be interpreting it differently at CRO.

I have gotten them in the past after I have booked. Plus the past 3 years free dining was announced AFTER we had booked and paid for DDP (they just credited our account).

I'd love to know how you all got these postcards with the discount codes on them. I've stayed at WDW over 40 times and filled out guest surveys after stays and on the phone after making a reservation and still haven't gotten any postcard discount codes . Any idea how you've been selected to receive them? I've got two trips planned this year- in Sept. for the free DDP and December of this year. Would love to receive one.

Everyone is trying to figure out how to get CODES On another post, no one can figure out why we got the free upgrade to OKW or SSR. I know the dates are only for 8/26 - 9/3, but other than that there seems to pattern to who got the code. We've been upgraded to SSR, 1 bedroom w/ free dining. WOW!!! My dreams have come true

That is one of the mystery's in who gets the postcards and the emails. I feel fortunate that I do get them. We travel to Disney every fews years. I also just sign up for anything on the Disney site. I have ordered maps, vacation planning videos, made vacations and cancelled them (not intentionally), made an account on Disney's website and even called to inquire about a trip since they take all your information. I have the CM's check for pin #'s attached to my name.

The only discount I was able to get this trip besides AAA, was when the "code" was leaked and was quickly squashed by Disney. I originally had reservations to the Poly, but I down graded to CSR this week. I didn't have any issues in changing the reservations for both rooms. Rumor had it that no changes were able to be made once you used the "code". I got a great deal again, not as good as the Poly deal, but I am staying at a moderate resort for $40.00 more then a value resort.
