We are Verizon customers - they have this rewards program...I have over 400,000 points, but I can't for the life of me find ANYTHING to actually spend them on that actually worth it. Has anyone cashed in rewards on something you actually wanted/needed?

I'm having the same problem. We have over half a million points and we haven't found anything worth bothering with. :/

We always used ours for either Starbucks or Panera gift cards. Nothing too exciting, but we always use them.

I didn't see Starbucks on there! I'm going to have to go look agai n!

I think you are talking about two different rewards programs. There is one Verizon rewards that gives you points for signing up for ebills or renting on-demand movies, and that one I've used for Panera and other gift cards, which is fine. Then there is the other one, that I noticed I had like 500,000 points in, that's a crock of crap and the points are good for small discounts on things I'd never buy-- and I believe that by being enrolled in that one you're letting them add you to a mailing list.

Leave it to Verizon... what a horrible, non-customer friendly company.

I have used them once to buy a gift card to any Landry's restaurant. It was $90 for a $100 gift card (plus some many of the points). I used it once on a trip that we paid out of pocket for food. We used it to eat at Yak & Yeti's.

It wasn't much, but it still saved some.

I used it to buy Carnival gift cards to pay off our cruise. Saved me about $150, as I bought three $500 ones.

I catch some of the daily deals, but not very often.

Today they have a year subscription to better homes and gardens as their daily deal. So that was free.

I've gotten a best buy gift card $5 for free and they had 1GB data added to your account last month for some points so i did that one.

Yup it was the bunch of crap 400,000 points I was looking to spend....., pretty useless - there is no Starbucks :(

I never even looked at it until just now. Nothing that I'm interested in either.

We use them to get Carnival gift cards as well. We cruise with Carnival so the extra $$ off is just a bonus as we also have Verizon.

Glad I didn't sign up when I noticed it the other day. I didn't take long to look at it but didn't like what I saw so decided to ignore it. Now I don't need to bother looking at it again

Same here. The only thing I might have been interested in was some gift cards, but most of the offerings seemed to be for something minuscule like a $100 gc for $90. Not much of a savings, for those of us looking to actually save!!

.

I did just "cash in" some points for a local fast food place - like for a $5.00 coupon - it's the same coupon they run in the paper every few months but at least it was something

It reminds me of the credit card rewards catalog that used to come once per year and you got to pick a free gift. I remember my grandma getting me a cheap, plastic point and shoot camera and my sister got some tiny binoculars that barely worked. Basically, the quality of free stuff you used to get at a bank for opening an account. I'd rather be rewarded with better rates, more data, earlier phone upgrades or a free car charger for my loyalty. I don't need to accumulate points to cash them in for a discount or gift card.

This topic was discussed back in January with quite a lot of activity on the board.

Basically, as said people here are talking about two different programs.

The "worthless" one is just a come-on to allow your name and details to be shamelessly sold for marketing purposes to other companies and they hit you with how valuable this program is (NOT), if you try to OPT OUT of them selling your name/etal.
