Anybody works at Lowes or Costco?

Am thinking about looking into parttime work during kids school hours. Does anyone have any experience with either of these two stores?

I worked part time at Costco for 8 yrs.They start at around 11.00 an hr now I think-I don't work there anymore cause I am a sahm now but I still have many friends who work there.I think it is a great place to work-good salary,good benefits but it is a pretty fast paced place to work and around the holidays it gets very crazy.I worked in membership,refunds,front end(cashier) and also in the photo lab.When I left I was making 16.00 an hr.That was 5 yrs ago.I also applied at lowes about 2 yrs ago and was hired at 12.00 an hr because of my expierience at Costco-I didn't think that was too bad for being a cashier.My husbands hours changed and I decided not to go back to work after all though.

I used to work at Lowe's and I thought it was great as far as retail went. One nice thing is that part timers are eligible for their benefits.
Getting daytime hours was a challenge for me but maybe it will work out better for you.

I used to work at Lowe's. Pay varies depending on where you live. In south NJ an inexperienced 18 yr old started around $12 an hour. In SC the same kid starts around $8-10 depending on the dept. They mostly use part-timers for nights and weekends, so that might not work for you.

There is a Costco near our house that I spend a lot of time there. Hmmm, maybe it's time to get a part time job! Do employees get discounts also?

No discount on merchandise but after your probation period you get free membership.If they hire you for seasonal help then the salary is usually a little less than regular hire pay.I was hired as seasonal and kept on after christmas for regular employee.As far as retail goes they are good-usual black out times for ays off around the holidays and such.
