There is alot of talk about the July/August folks for AKL being called to move. I know officially the relocating of people is through Sept. 1. I am just curious if anybody has been called who is staying after Sept. 1.

Has anybody with a September ressie tried to move on their own accord? If so, what have you been told?

TIA!

I have called and asked 4 or 5 times already, spoke to Guest Relations, and I've been told almost exactly the same thing: NO - Disney is not moving AKL'ers in September at this time. If anyone wants to move, they are responsible for the price difference. Disney is not taking responsibility for those who are staying at AKL after Sept 1 who decide to move because of the construction....at this time.

I was told by a very nice CM, however, that they may decide to extend the date, and she told me to sit tight and wait...we might find out more within the next few weeks.

I know some of these Sept. peeps are going crazy trying to "sit tight". :laundy: :rolleyes1

Good luck, y'all! Hope it all works out magically.

I doubt they'll call Sept people until they've passed that 45 day mark. You know they're going to wait and see who cancels out on their own. If it's going to happen it'll start before too much longer though.

I got booted, but I had a Deluxe Club Level room booked. They no longer have those rooms:sad1:

I am really hoping the construction issues really settle down by then. We are staying in a 1BR in the new villas, so our options to move are pretty limited. I wouldn't be thrilled to be moved from a 1BR at AKV to SSR. I'm crossing my fingers things go well...

We are booked for the first week in September at AKL Standard View through an Earmarked by Disney TA. I don't imagine we'll hear anything for awhile if we are going to be moved as it seems they contact those who booked themselves before dealing with TA-booked guests.:rolleyes1 :laundy:

I guess I now know why AP and Florida Resident Rates were so difficult to come by this trip.

We are staying Aug 31 (arriving latenight though so its practically Sept 1) - Sept 5....we just got the call last night. Right dead on the 45 day mark. :sad1:

Just now talked to Guest Services again. She said they are NOT moving September AKL'ers, that the move prior to Sept 1st was "unforeseen."

:confused3

Nope, no call for me... yet. I don't know what I will do if they call me. I will probably ask if they will change my dates but keep my price the same instead of moving me.

My Ta just got the call yesterday. I check in 8/31 and check out 9/9. They called her and tried to offer me SSR, but my TA was already told I would only take a boardwalk hotel or the Poly.

Disney offered me Poly, BW, BC, and YC. I took the Poly, but am still disappointed in not being at the AKL. We chose this resort for many reasons, but we are animal lovers and were really excited to stay here.

This is our 1st year anniversary  and we went to hawaii for our honeymoon so staying at Poly was not my first choice. After being in the real place I am sure the Poly will not compare.

I will still have a great time, but now I must switch gears and become excited about the Poly instead of the AKL that i have been booked in for 6 months now. :sad2:

So, I'm curious, why didn't you pick BW, BC or YC?

this is the first time at Disney we are not renting a car. My biggest concern is getting to and from the parks and resorts and getting to DTD. We go to DTD a lot and this is the hardest place to go to with disney transportation. AKL does not share their buses with anyone so for us this was a plus. We are spoiled with renting a car and getting anywhere we want in a half hour. So with that in minde the next best option was a resort on the monorail. I would have chosen the YC or BC if we had a car, but the Poly has both monorail and boat transportation. I am also told you can walk to the TTC and get a bus to DTD.

My DH said he prefered the Poly so since its his money I spend on vacation I went with his choice.

You don't have to walk to the TTC - you can just get the bus to DTD from the Poly itself.

OOHH. that is even better. I haven;t really looked in depth on how to get where when we are there, but I ws told this was one of the best options for transportation.

Thanks for the Info

I called to add a day to my tickets today... I casually told the CM that I'd heard some people were being moved from AKL due to some construction going on... I said, "we're not going to be moved too are we?" She said, "Oh no... no." I don't think she had any idea what I was talking about. We'll see what happens. I don't know if I'll keep this trip if we have to move, but I don't want to be charged a cancellation fee either if they wait until after the 45 day mark to call me!!!
