Just looking at booking a Town Car from the airport next month as we are not picking our hire car up until a few days later.

But just wondering if anybody has had experience of DME when arriving from the UK as this is also an option.

Would also like to know how long it took for your luggage to arrive. We are on the VS015 so will not get in until after 5pm and have visions of not getting our luggage until very late which is the main reason for booking a town car.

Ive never used it but have heard from other people that it can take hours to get your luggage delivered to you. I think you can choose to pick up your suitcases yourself tho which would solve the problem, just make sure you collect them off the 2nd luggage belt and take them to the coach. :goodvibes

We used it a few weeks ago. Our flight arrived about 3.30 pm, we checked into Port Orleans Riverside around 5.30 pm. It was good getting the ME bus with the tv's on the bus getting everyone excited about being there, and only a couple of families got off at our resort so check in was quick. Unfortunately our luggage diidn't get deliverd to our room until 11.3o pm, and that was after many phone calls to luggage services, and promises that theyd be there in 5 minutes. I had to force myself to stay awake, and the rest of my family went to sleep. No reflection on the resort, they were all very helpful, just very busy I think. In future I will not be going on the ME, just because I like to get unpacked and organises asap so we can get on and enjpy our hols.

I have used DME - I would definately use them again but would pick up my luggage at the 2nd luggage belt and take it with me on the coach rather than wait for them to deliver it.

Similar to the other posts - I got to POP at about 6pm but my luggage wasn't delivered until past 1am (Florida time - 6am British time) and I was absolutely exhausted, having been up for 24 hours. This was last year, following the terror threats and we were hardly allowed to take anything in hand luggage so I had nothing with me (ie pyjamas, washing stuff etc). It was my first solo holiday and I do confess that I felt very lonely with no family and no luggage - wondering what on earth I had done!

Having said that, it's a great concept - it saves hiring a car or a taxi - I would use it again - but with this slight modification!

We used it at Christmas and will be using it again next summer. Due to flight delays we didn't get to MCO until 9pm there was no way I was going to stay up much longer to wait for our luggage so we took it on the bus with us.

I plan to do the same again next summer. I think if your from the US and arriving into Disney on an early flight then letting them deliver your luggage makes sense but for those of us that don't arrive until late afternoon / evening your better off taking your cases on the bus with you.

Thanks for the replies. Do they mind you taking your cases on the bus with you? We will have quite a few (we don't travel light).

But would feel happier using the service if I could take our bags and cases with us. I like to unpack and settle in on the first night. Also would save a few $$'s.

We've used DME once and collected our luggage ourselves and took it on the bus without any problems. Plan on using it again next year and will collect our luggage again.

We used the DME this year and it was brilliant. We arrived about 3.30pm and got to POR at about 5.00pm. We checked in went and found our room, had a quick freshen up and then headed off the DTD for something to eat, by the time we got back our cases were in our room. Excellent service can't wait to use it again :cool1:

Planning to use DME this trip and I had no problems booking the return journey with disney but having a problem booking from MCO to Pop, hiccup is its a split stay and first booking is with Expedia for Pop, second stay at WL was with disney. Can anyone give me the direct number to call DME as I'm sure disney uk are wrong that I can't use it if my hotel booking isn't directly with disney. Thanks:thumbsup2

I think there is a link on the Disney site that you can use to book DME, split stay shouldn't be a problem, I did it last year. Pop with Expedia followed by DVC and used DME.

On the return journey there were people with 11 (!) cases, so a lot of luggage can be taken. If you're arriving late and with the jet lag it makes sense to take your cases with you.

I think we will probably use this service next May - thanks for the tip about taking our luggage with us - we'll definately do that!:thumbsup2
