I've posted on a few other thread. I just love ediets. I joined exactly 3 years ago, Jan 1, 2002. In about 18 months, I lost 90lbs and wanted to lose about 30 more but let a bunch of life circumstances detract me from being totally committed. I maintained where I was for a year, then this holiday season added on some pounds. Now I'm back serious now.
Anyway, as for ediets, it had what I needed, which was for someone to do the thinking for me. WW didn't work for me because although they provide great support and have a simple program, I just couldn't be left to make my own choices. I'd pick stuff that was high in points so I couldn't eat very much, then I'd end up hungry, and eating too much. Plus, it was hard coming up with creative ways to make you 3 proteins, 2 veggies and 1 starch (or wahtever combination) into an appealing meal.
Ediets gave me a complete week's worth of menus, with real recipes, not just eat so much protein, so much starch, etc. Last night I had Spinach Lasagne, salad and fruit. For the Lasagne, they gave me a complete recipe for 1. So everything I cooked was what I was supposed to eat. No guessing on how big a serving size is. Plus, even though after each week's check, they give me a new 7 day meal plan, it is still customizable. If I have a bunch of ground turkey in the freezer, then I can change some meals around to use that up. And if you don't cook, they have a 'convenience' option which is less cooking.
After you have settled on you weekly menu, you get a shopping list that has everything listed that you need to complete that week's menu. So you know exactly how much to buy.
There are also online meetings, support boards, and a fitness option.
Just let me know if you have any questions on the program.
