Anybody use a weighted blanket?

I know I'd love this - IF I lived in a cooler climate. Can't imagine using this in florida...we pay a fortune in AC/electric bills just to keep the house cooled to 76-77 degrees and I'm still too warm.

Some of the weighted blankets have covers you can change to make them cooling or warm. Some are just cooling. And some are just warm.

Update: I tried my DD's blanket last night (15 pounds) and had to take it off the bed at about 2 AM. I have strained my lower back in the last few days and the weight was actually causing pain to the point of keeping me awake..

I get what @DisneyHardin said, too. I had three momentary (1-3 seconds) really weird dreams. Nothing scary -- just bizarre.

I may re-try the blanket in a couple of weeks when the back pain is no longer an issue.

My son has one. It helps with his anxiety. It is 10% of his body weight. I bought him a cheap one to see if it works with the intention of buying a better one. He likes it and doesn’t want a better one. He has had it for 3 years.

I saw them pretty cheap at Big Lots the other day. I might grab one and give it a try.

I have a 20# one that I used for awhile. I loved it at first, but mine has too big of areas for the beads. They don’t stay put, but end up in the corners. I no longer use it. If you get one OP, make sure it’s a good one where the beads are sewn into tiny pockets and don’t shift all over.

I don't have much information but I've known a few people who have had them and they love them. 2 of them for anxiety issues 1 for sleep issues. I wish I knew more, especially about cooled ones. I've almost been considering getting one myself but don't want to get too hot with it. If you end up trying it out update this thread with how it worked for you!
