Anybody see Nemo yet?

Do you mean the rockfish that were caught in the net? ...or the "flat" flounder the kids were playing on?

The animation was very impressive. As mentioned, I thought some of the scenes were pretty intense for the youngsters. As much as I don't care for Ellen Degeneres' style of humor, I must say she did a pretty good job with Dory!

We'll see if this movie has legs.

We arrived at the theater on time for the 1:40 show but had to go to the 3:05 because they were sold out for the 1:40, and 2:40 show. In fairness it was very rainy here today, but I'm not so sure the crowds were 100% rain caused. It was refreshing to go to an opening weekend and have the theater full. I remember Lilo and Stitch being about 1/2 full on the Saturday it opened, and Country Bears...well let's not even go there.
The movie was wonderful and very enjoyable. Many very funny moments, and the overall reaction at the end of the film was great--I love when the little kids are all clapping and so happy--when Marlin found Nemo there was this "sigh of relief and excitement" that went through the theater--I have not had that at the movies since TS2. I will definately take the grandparents and gladly shell out the money to see it a second time!

Plutospup:

No, I mean the fish with the lighted bait on it. I remember reading about it in a book I had as a kid called something like 'Fish Do the Most Amazing Things' or 'animals' or something.

I just can't remember the name of the fish. It's an actual fish...

i think it wasan angler fish, but angler fish don't really look like it so much. thereis unused animation on the 20k luts dvd that look like the one in finding nemo

Great movie!! My husband, 2 daughters and I went and all loved it.

We saw it this afternoon. (Two adults)
I liked Lilo & Stitch, TS and Monsters better. But this was a very good movie.
DH liked it better than I.
LOTS of little kids. Sounded like a day care center in the room. They really needed the sound louder to drown out the kid's crying, talking and screaming. Some parts were hard, if not impossible, to hear.

Just got back from the theater where I caught Nemo. In short, this is a wonderful film. It's so refreshing to see such creativity in animation these days. This one is truly special. And the colors and vivid backgrounds/characters are exceptional. Bravo to Pixar for getting it right, yet again.

hmmm...saw Nemo last night at a drive in theater. It was a beautiful movie, visually. It had its funny parts (not a huge Ellen fan...but the "speaking whale" part was hilarious) and it had its sweet, sentimental parts. But overall it didn't really do much for me. The story just seemed a bit flat. And Darla was basically just Sid...but younger and a girl. The whole idea of setting a movie underwater was quite novel...and they did an excellent job with the animation. It just didn't click with me I guess.

I don't know...I just didn't leave the theater with the same sort of feeling as I have had with Pixar and Disney movies in the past. Could just be me though....its been a rough week.

Thumbs up from us. But, thumbs not as high as TS, TS2 or M Inc., but maybe higher than A Bug's Life. I'll have to see it a few more times to get a full feeling for it. But, right now I'm not feeling overwhelmed by this film. Not as much as by the others.

The teaser for The Incredibles has me excited, though. Seems like a great story could come from that one.

I agree wholeheartedly with gcurling. And I too am looking forward to the Incredibles!
I know I will buy the DVD on pre-sale. I think I may enjoy it more at home without the sound effects from the audience. ;)
With L&S, I wanted to watch it again in the theatres, and did, and could have kept on returning. I doubt I will sea ;) Nemo again until I get the DVD.
Agree with Lesley too. The best part was Speaking Whale! :jester:
I thought Ellen made it. DH thought Albert Brooks did. I think with Nemo they managed to capture everyone again.
It's one of those movies that may be even better the second time around too. Pixar did a terrific job.

We're considering going again this week.....I think perhaps I was too distracted by my 3yo (who asked to go to the bathroom every 20 minutes....and wanted to get in the car and out of the car repeatedly the rest of the time....) to really follow and enjoy the movie.
