Anybody like Ebates?

I switch between Ebates and Upromise depending on the rebate amount. If they are the same, I'll take the "Big Fat Check". I don't shop online too much, but I end up with about $20-$30 per year. Not bad for almost zero effort.

Hey guys, OP here. Just wanted to share my Ebates update.
Just for the sake of review, I'll start from the beginning.

I joined Ebates about 6 weeks ago and chose a $10 Target card for my sign up bonus. In the mean time, I went through the Ebates link to the stores and bought a water filter for my refrigerators ice maker from Lowes, a pair of Crocs sandals from ShoeBuy and a couple of shirts and a ball cap from CafePress. ShoeBuy and CafePress had 20% and 30% off discount codes, as well as cash back.

Last week, in the mail, I got my $10 Target card and my "Big Fat Check" for $5.47. Well okay, the check was pretty small, but better in my pocket than theirs, right?

I definitely will check with Ebates first, before I buy online. I can see how it could add up pretty quick if you are buying a good amount of stuff.

Thanks for your input and happy shopping! :flower:

I use a lot of Lancome skincare and so I "double-dip" through eBates and MyPoints. About 3-4 times a year, eBates offers 14% back on Lancome purchases...INCLUDING gift certificates. So, I buy a $75 gift certificate and send it to myself. I get $10.50 back which goes into my vacation account. Then, I wait until MyPoints has their Lancome bonus with a $75 purchase. I use the $75 gift certificate to order through MyPoints and I earn 4000 points. That is enough for a $25 gift card to Rainforest Cafe/T-Rex.

So, for $75, I get $75 worth of Lancome (usually more, since they always send a bunch of samples and gifts with purchase), a $25 gift card and $10.50 cash into my vacation account. Not too bad;).

I swap between ebates and mypoints.
:thumbsup2. Me too. I have my ebates check deposited to my paypal account - then I go to disneystore.com and order a gift card and pay with paypal ....so it's free. I use the gc towards room or food purchases at disney.

Wow guys! I'm impressed! I'm definitely learning about all the ways to maximize the savings. ;)

Here's another way to make Ebates do extra duty. We were looking for a new refrigerator. Checked online at some places and then went into Lowes to get an in person feel for what we were looking at. After measuring and stuff we found what we wanted from Lowes was too tall for the space we have to fit a refrigerator. We finally checked Sears and found what we wanted. We do have a local Sears, but why not check online ordering? So...off to Ebates I go, they offer a nice amount back for Sears, plus had a code for free delivery..we find the refrigerator online and order it through Ebates and also put in Free Delivery code. Ta Da..refrigerator arrives with Free Delivery and I have $98.00 extra sitting in my Ebates account waiting for me. So don't forget to go through them even if getting something from a local store.:thumbsup2

I use and like ebates. I have found that since I downloaded an ebates bar on my browser that tells me when I'm on an ebates available site it has been easier to use. I use it a lot for groupons and Lands End but have found with the bar on my browser many other sites available and I don't have to remember to go to ebates. It tells me and all I do is click on the "cash back available" button and it activates the ebate reward. I think if you go to the ebates site you will see this feature available free.

I have used AllureRewards for years and just joined Ebates. I go back and forth between the two and use the one that gives me the biggest % back. What you have to remember is that with sites like this, they are only good for you if you shop online alot. They are not a site that you earn for doing things like surveys and such.

I do find that there's a bit of overkill on the emails from them, though.
No big deal, I'd rather have that than junk snailmail.;)

I love ebates! I have them deposit my "big fat check" in my Paypal account every quarter. Just checked their site and I joined in 2006. Without really trying and buying mostly my dog's food online and using Disney Shopping, magazines.com, restaurant.com, I've earned $1760.00. Not bad for doing nothing!

Dog food, you say???:scratchin I may have to go check it out! I have 2 large dogs (a yellow lab and a coon hound) and I spend $70 a month of dog food easy! Hopefully they have what my babies eat.

I've been using ebates for nearly 3 years. I've received over $300 from them for absolutely nothing! I just check there when I'm about to order something online anyway and if they have a link I use it and then they send me free money! Easy! Why not use it? No spam. You don't even have to request your cash, they just mail it quarterly.

Whats not to like- every few months they deposit anywhere from 20- hundreds of dollars into my checking account! I bought a dishwasher from lowes, and got a nice rebate on that and also an air hockey table which was a nice rebate. I do most of my christmas shopping online and always through ebates so I get nice rebate checks!

thanks to the PP who mentioned the toolbar. i'm going to have to switch over to Firefox and use that.

i forget to check ebates and it irritates me that i could've gotten cash back on our washing machine purchase and a few other larger purchased. :(

I love it! haha I just signed up after reading this thread, but we made some large purchases online to finish our home renovations and we already have over $50+:cool1:

Don't forget to use Ebates when you buy your Groupons or anything on Itunes!

When you read the list of stores, it's kind of amazing. I think almost everyplace is listed!

You don't always have to have things shipped, either. When I ordered a water filter online from Lowes, I opted to pick it up at the store and it was waiting for me at Customer Service, I showed my ID and out the door!:thumbsup2

A friend recommended Ebates to me, so I joined. (Not Ebay)
I've been surfing around on it a bit and I can't really see how it's so great. What am I missing?
Do any of you have good results with Ebates?:confused3

Yes! I go through ebates when I am going to buy something I was going to buy anyway. It has worked - I've gotten about 300 back in the past year, and I have another 40 pending.
Basically, if you plan on buying something online, just go through their site and click on it before you go to the site you plan to make your purchase on. You'll get a percentage back.
I'm always busy, and I end up making a lot of purchases online so I can comparison shop. So ebates has been helpful.

I love ebates. It's very simple to use, and they will still give you cash back when you use coupon codes, unlike some other sites. I usually check retail me not for coupon codes, in addition to ebates. Then I click through ebates and use the best coupon code I could find. :thumbsup2

When ordering online, I always check to see if I get money back there. I've gotten $250 since I've joined and I really don't order too much online! Free money? Worth checking at least for something I was going to order online anyway!
