Anybody just back from the YC??

Hi! I was wondering if anyone just returned from the YC in the past couple of days. I'd like to know how the renovation is going - what floor are they currently on.....is it almost done.....what is the noise level like.....?? We leave in a week and a half and I'm still very anxious over this. Also, I've heard some people say that the renovations are only taking place on the inside, while others have reported scaffolding on the outside of the resort & pool area. Is it going to be an eyesore for us? Since my DH and I are going without children, we really want to be able to enjoy our resort instead of spending every waking moment at the parks.....

We're just back from Beach Club Villas. There is scaffolding on the outside of the Yacht Club, mainly on the area overlooking Stormalong Bay and the structures in front of stormalong bay - like Hurricane Hannahs. There was some construction noise around the pool but it wasn't terrible, I didn't find it very distracting at all. They have fabric draped over the scaffolding so it doesn't look so bad. I didn't really notice any scaffolding around guest rooms, and we walked thru YC and I don't recall any construction going on inside.

What are they doing? painting the bldgs???

They were actually tearing off the siding and replacing it. It looked pretty extensive. You mainly had saw and hammer noises.

I was at the Yacht Club on the 5th Floor concierge on 8/23- 8/25. Yes there is renovation outside the resort around the pool, but it will not affect your stay at all. I did not hear any hammering or noise. The room was beautifully redone.
