Hi. Was the park really crowded on that day or around the 4th of July? Did Sea World have anything special for that day, or is there something else special going on in the Orlando area? Thanks for any help.

Yes.

Go here to read my trip report.

We went to DC on July 4th. Good thing about this is that the total number of people that can enter is capped. So going to DC on July 4th is like going any other day, meaning, you'll have a great time.
Then we went back to the Renaissance Resort to rest and get some free snacks from the club room.
Then we literally walked across the parking lot to SWF and saw the fireworks at the ski stadium with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra playing.
Yeah, there was alot of people there that night. The ski stadium was completely full, with people sitting in the grass to the side.

If you are going to SWF July 4th, then I'd say to get there early, get your rides on JTA and Kraken, see a few shows, then go back to your hotel and rest. Then come back that night and get to the ski stadium an hour before the fireworks start. Most people will be in Shamu Stadium watching that show first, skip it and go straight to the fireworks show.

If you want GREAT fireworks go down the road to US/IOA. We were there this past July 4th and the fireworks were spectacular!
