Just in the preliminary stages at this point, looking at free dining in late Sept. I'm trying to remember, when do the car rental rates get good? Is it about 90 days out, or closer? Anyway, if you've got anything good handy, or favourite sites and sources, I'd love to know. It's been a couple of years, though it seems Dollar has been our best bet in the past.

Thanks! :flower3:

My best price was thru National..booking only with my Emerald Ailse number..anytime I added any of the codes found here or on Mousesavers the price shot up...

Try using Alamo.ca (or Alamo.com with Canada as country of residence), with Wal-Mart code. The price is much better than just Alamo.com with USA default. It is about 100$ more for me than last September, but still an honest price for now. However, I did not have an ultra-low under 100$/week price last year, so I don't know what is a good rate to you!

Otherwise, check with Dollar OOAG or KISS2 codes (from Mousesavers). Prices are around the same as Alamo.

Last year I remember that prices fell in August, and then again just before my trip after Labour Day. I hope they do this year again, so I can get the convertible (at 383$ for 9 days, still a bit too much to my taste, the Compact would be 250$). :cheer2:

We are also going for free dining at the end of August (WL:cool1:). I haven't even bothered with the car yet because I usually find I can get a decent rate about 2 months out, then I reserve and just keep checking. We usually do Alamo or National because we like the ease of taking the Magical Express to the hotel and we pick up the car the next day at the Dolphin, and drop it off on our last day. Check Alamo.ca for coupons or codes for Canadians only as it gets closer to the time. Also keep an eye on the transportation board as they also seem to find great codes. Last year over new years we were able to get an intermediate for about $60 including taxes for 6 days with a code off of that board (I think they got it from rentalcarmomma.com?) and a coupon from alamo.ca for Canadians. I had originally booked for about $165. and rebooked about 5 times as it kept going down. My husband was joking that pretty soon they would be paying us to take the car! Also play around with your pickup and drop off times and days (if possible) as this can affect the rate. HTH:)

Has anyone used the OOAG code from Dollar?...I booked with that code but am worried that when I get there I will need a coupon or something...

Thanks everyone. THere's a lot to start from there, thanks. Off the bat I'm getting $150/wk in Sept (midsize @ Dollar), which is a lot better than I was getting at first.

Since we use DME, I always book from Dollar at the Regal Sun Resort across the street from Downtown Disney and always use a code from Mousesavers. I've used the promo codes KISSE or KISS2 and also the oi1054 corporate code. I haven't really checked out rates yet as I don't know whether we'll need a car this time since we are also going for free dining and won't need to go off-site for anything - just what Disney wants! ;)

I like the idea of using DME on arrival then picking up a car. Saves the airport hassles. Not sure I could do without a car for the whole visit, though--how would I get to poke around in all those weird American grocery stores?? ;)

My Alamo car during March Break 2009 was only $129 per week. I just booked Alamo again for July and it's $155US. I'll keep looking for cheaper! S
