Anybody got a GOOD air mattress?

This is at www.overstocks.com

It's $99 with $1 shipping. Does that sound reasonable?

I found this one too - here's a link, the picture won't copy http://www.abedstore.com/raisedaerobed.html- looks wonderful - but yikes $199 for the twin!

I think the first link should be

www.overstock.com

Do you have a bed bath and beyond near you. I know that my parents just bought the twin raised aerobed last week. I think they paid around $70-$80 for it.

The twin is pretty light...and comes in a nylon (?) carrying case. Could easily be carried onto the plane. If I was going to check it, I'd probably put it inside another soft side duffle bag to make sure it is protected.

Overstock has some good deals. Remember, there's not much room for a full or queen (unless you are going to leave the sofa folded, of course) at Disney.

TheFourofUs...glad to know that you like the raised bed. I wonder how well they work...if they jiggle around alot when you turn over, etc. Were they on sale at BB&B...did you use a coupon?

We have the raised Areobed and it is great!! It is heavy to lug around but worth it.

I was going to borrow my brothers air mattress and he said you had to plug it into a car cigarrette lighter to blow it up, the pump didn't have a regular plug. How do you blow them up in the room?

We've got a 2 BR in May, DH's son and family are coming. Since DD 14 likes to sleep as late as possible, I thought we'd put her in the MBR with us, on an air mattress. Problem is, we have to carry it on the plane. I was thinking a redibed type thing, any recommendations?

They have stabilizers of a sort on the edges - these chambers shaped like a pool "Noodle", that stick out about 4-6 inches on both sides, to help. They jiggle a bit if you fill it completely, but what with my "Select Comfort" bed, I know to fill it most of the way, then lie on it to fill it the rest of the way. If you really TRY to swing it back and forth, yes, but my father in law, who is a "pooh sized" guy, said it was as comfortable as any bed he's slept in, he was surprised.

No, no coupon, I didn't even know about my local store (new) until someone mentioned it - they are still there, on sale for thirty percent off - so the regular queen which elsewhere is $299, was $209. I know that sounds like alot, but what with the in-laws coming back to New England from FL every now and again, I needed something like this, and it's cheaper and easier than adding on a guest room. However, ALL the mattresses, flat or raised, all sizes, are still on sale that price as of yesterday. :)

The twin is easy to carry - the QUEEN, my GOD it's heavy, it's a "Hubby you carry that one" type bag. *wink* However, it packs up into a duffel bag easily, space wise it's awesome, takes up half a shelf in the linen closet, that's it. When you see how HUGE it is blown up, you'd never believe it! But it's very heavy duty vinyl, so it's very HEAVY.
