Anybody got $198,000 I can borrow?

OK but the reception is :

Set in the mysterious backstage area of Magic Kingdom® Park, your reception will delight and amaze your family and friends. Here, everyone enjoys dinner surrounded by Disney’s magical Parade Floats.

I've been on the KTTK Tour, that area is pretty much a parking lot and an airplane hangar. Nothing very "mysterious"

I'm am sure it is going to be AMAZING. But...for $198,000 it better be.

It says the wedding will take place during park hours. I'm assuming it will be in the Rose Garden.

Not sure I'd want my wedding during park hours with all the park guests there. I love the pictures of Lurkyloo's wedding at Epcot in Morroco, before the WS was open.

I agree! Lurkyloo's pictures are AMAZING! My girlfriend and i admired those for the longest time a few months ago.

200 grand for a 50-guest wedding?! Are they out of their fool minds?! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE WDW (duh), and of course a Magic Kingdom wedding would be a dream come true, but for 200 grand, I'd want a whole hell of a lot more than what they're offering. 4000 bucks a person and the guests don't even get resort rooms? Airfare? Park tickets? Honestly, I can't even imagine what they could throw in that would make it worth that price. At the VERY least, they'd have to defrost Walt and have him perform the ceremony.

From the fine print:

Block Out Dates: February 10 - February 20, 2010; March 12 - May 3, 2010;
June 10 - September 6, 2010, and November 20 – November 29, 2010. Seasonal décor (Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) will appear in the Magic Kingdom® Park from September through December, 2010.

Gee thats a pretty big chunk of time that you cant get married during! For $198,00 I wanna pick the dates I want!

And she did it on a budget to boot! Gotta love that! :thumbsup2

Really, when you have 50 guests, most of them are coupled up, or even families of more than 2 people, so its about 25 rooms. For $200,000 Disney could cough up 25 rooms. BTW its 50 people including the Bride and Groom.

From the FAQ:

What if I have more than 50 guests?

Due to limited capacity in these exclusive venues for the ceremony and the reception within the Magic Kingdom® Park, the number of guests is limited to a total of fifty (50) people including the bride and groom. Ask your Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding Consultant for more information.

OK, I just got through the list, and while some of it sounds really cool. I don't really see the value in $200k. Especially the transportation. $198k and Disney can't let you use Cinderella's coach, but an "open air Landau coach"? I believe the price difference between the two is $800. The Landau coach is very nice, but for that kind of money, and if you're getting married in FRONT of the castle, I would want the pumpkin! princess:

Here's a pic of the coach that's included, just in case you don't know what I'm referring to:

And here's the Cinderella coach:

Probably because you'll be in MK and they don't want disappointed little girls thinking they're about to see Cinderella in the coach only to have Jane Average step out.

I was thinking this too, I'm sure that's why you don't get the Pumpkin Coach.

I do think the whole thing sounds amazing, if I had a spare $198,000 I'd do it.
Oh and a spare guy that wants to get married. :rotfl:

I'm sure you can pay to upgrade to the coach ~ the summary above says you can pay for substitutions. With only 50 people, who knows if you'd even have any little girls at your wedding. And you wouldn't necessarily be 'Jane Average', the bride will be sure to look like a princess! I've seen pictures of in-park weddings where the pumpkin was used. Maybe they were just promo photos, but I'm sure at least 1 or 2 were from actual weddings.

All that said, I wasn't really questioning why, just pointing out that for ALL that money, Disney could give you the "top o' the line" model.

We weren't talking about the little girls you might have in the wedding, but the little girls just in the park who see the Pumpkin Coach and then also expect to see Cinderella. I don't know of any wedding in the park during park hours. I remember one I saw, the wedding was at night, the park was obviously closed.

Not that I don't agree, you should get the pumpkin coach, but I really think the reason is because of little girl park guests.

OK...that wedding looks AMAZING...and I bet it cost more than my house...and my car...and the hospital bills to have both my kids!!:rotfl2:

Ok, the wedding photos that were posted from the MK wedding... That I bet was more that $200k. They had both AK and MK after park closing. THey had dinner before the ceremony at Tusker House (it was fully catered) and then escorted their guests to MK for the ceremony in front of the castle THEN they had a reception in Fantasyland. Wow...
