Hi. We've booked to go to WDW next xmas 2008 and was wondering if anybody else was going. Were flying out xmas day (a lot cheaper) and can't wait to start planning all the exciting things to do over the xmas period.

Does anybody know if we will get into one of the parks on xmas day seeing as we don't arrive untill later in the afternoon?????:santa:

We are considering it, but school hols dont fall well for us Xmas 08 they break up too early, I have to work Xmas eve so can only fit 8 nights in. Who you booked with, Looked at Virgin package and it was too much for me going Xmas day.

We have booked with Virgin, we got a price for the 22nd and the 25th and it about £1200 cheaper to go xmas day, that's why we booked it

yes all the parks are open on xmas day, but the only downfall is they get extremely overcrowded and you have to be there pretty early to get in as they shut the parks early because they are more than full to compacity.
personally I wouldnt bother going to a disney park on xmas day, we have done it once before and the queues to go on rides was over a 2 hour wait on some of them. it is so crowded you cant see your feet in front of you!
cars are not only parked in the carparks but on the grass verges!
just letting you know our experience!

Yep we'll be there we arrive on 21st Dec :cool1:

The parks will be very crowned until about Jan 3rd. By the time you arrive and get settled into your accommodation it will be nearly 5pm, and by this time there will be no fast passes left and the queues will be well over an hour for most rides at every disney park.

Are you staying onsite, if so use the extended hours privileges, if not, do not go any where near a park with an AM extra magic hour, as the park will be packed before you can even get in the morning.

Yes it will be a lot cheaper Xmas day, Virgin are one of the few companies that drop to low season on Xmas day, Charter companies class Xmas thru New year peak season. Fantastic time to visit but sooooo busy.

Yes we've booked direct with Disney to go from the 21st Dec- 2nd Jan. We haven't booked flights yet though. Where abouts r u staying? xmas is amazing at Disney, but personally i wouldn't do the parks on xmas day due to the crowds. We normally have a lazy day round the pool, then on the 26th we go sale shopping which is fab!

Hi emily were staying at POR and will probably take your advice and stay at the resort perhaps make an ADR at one of the resort restuarants. Didn't think about the sale shopping. Can't wait :cool1:

Due to finances and both being mature:scared1: student nurses we were not going next year but after a large discussion and mad plan on savings we are now able to go in december next year as looking at this years prices doing it seperate we have found we can get flights with BA for £860 or virgin for £890,accom off site between £192 and up and on site at pop/all stars for £48 a room.Having stayed at pop last november with CBR we know what it is like and is great at christmas. We also got prices for the disney cruise for 4 nights which is just over a £1000.There seems to be loads of availibilty even at this time of year to book for december this year so we are going to leave it to book for next december till this time next year.I don't know what people on here have paid for 2 weks in december but we have worked it out to around £2660 for onsite with dining and tickets and around £2000 off site with tickets.Would like the security of saying we have booked but prices seem better for the flights at least if we wait a while. We are hoping to go in the 1st or 2nd of december.I  this time of year at disney :yay: :dance3:

Thanks wayne. Was trying to get a rough idea for next year by using this years prices.I know there will be a difference and yes I will consider anything. We don't normally drive (never driven in the states:scared1: ) but if we stay off site will hire for a few days and give it a go'At least I can now look forward to going.Hubby has found off he is off from the 5th December next year (reading weeks:lmao: )until 4th jan so we have a good idea when we can go.Thx for the advice:thumbsup2

I would never drive anywhere abroad. Did it once in Tenerife and it put me off, had a bad experience and said never again. Tried in Florida and loved it, I find it easier to adapt to their way of driving than coming back home and getting back into ours. I would not even consider Florida without a car now.
