Hey y'all,

I had a look through the last couple of pages and didn't see anything on it, and due to the current lack of a search function, thought I would just start a new thread.

Is anybody else from Australia venturing to the Disneyland Diamond Anniversary celebrations beginning in May like a crazy person? Due to Qantas having a reasonable sale ending today, I personally have decided (just two days ago) to be there for the big day itself - July 17. Having never been in the summer before, I don't have a gauge of what it is usually like, but I definitely expect it to be crazy on that day in particular.

The new entertainment offerings revealed last week - Paint The Night Parade, new fireworks and multimedia spectacular, and all new World of Color - each look stunning, and I am really excited to see the castle in it's sparkling glory.

I suppose if it is like the 50th anniversary, we can expect these offerings to stick around permanently/quite a while, so hopefully they're great quality additions.

Not for the anniversary day itself, but looking forward to seeing the celebrations in December. I loved the 50th and I think the 60th looks even bigger and better - can't wait!

Yes, we are going - but not on the actual date. I always try to avoid very busy times, I don't do busy too well! I can't wait, have been waiting since the 50th which was amazing!

I'll be there mid-October :) The 60th celebrations are the whole reason I added 2 days at DL to my trip (I was previously just doing WDW)!

Our trip is in October, starting in Orlando. We'll be in Anaheim for a week from 7 Nov, and I hope the 60th Anniversary stuff is still going then :)

Sounds like we're all just going to miss each other! We'll be there from 19/10 - 29/10 then back to Aulani for Halloween!

Yes, after seeing the announcements on the new entertainment for the 60th last week, I decided Friday afternoon I had to go and had flights booked by Saturday morning. We're going in September. Still trying to justify going all the way there for just a week (all I could get off work), with 3 kids and no husband (he'll be on a trip to Cape York) - but it's done now!

We will be there from 11 August (coinciding with D23 expo) and then back for a week from 31/8 - looks like it's going to be spectacular

We'll be there for one day before the celebrations start (when everything is down being cleaned and polished lol!). But then we're going again in September when the celebrations should be in full swing. Can't wait!

We will visit end of May :D Could have added in July too (though not the actual 60th date), but have decided to stay across at WDW.

We'll also be there for September. I won a family holiday to Disneyland for the 50th Anniversary. Had a great time. Unfortunately, haven't won anything for the 60th. We can't wait to go though.

I'll be there with a friend. :) Never been to Disneyland before, and going for the 60th anniversary is just a coincidence (as was Tokyo Disneyland for their 30th). Looks like I'll just miss Meemoo - pretty sure our dates are 16-19 October.

Yes, my fun will just be starting as you check-out!

I'm wondering if I should do a Halloween Party? With all the new night entertainment, I'm not sure if I need to add anymore to the schedule. Thoughts? We will be at Aulani for Halloween, they throw a great party with trick or treating but is there something special about the DL party?

Actually, double checked my dates and we'll be there until 20 October. We're definitely doing the Halloween party. Have you seen the thread over at the Disneyland side of the board? A few rumours about how they'll deal with it while the 60th anniversary is going on, but nothing confirmed. But yeah, if it's on, we'll be there - the plan is also to go to Knott's Scary Farm while staying near Disney, and then move over to somewhere near Universal and do HHN. It'll be a busy six days!!

Where are you staying FireflyFi? I have been reading it, will be interesting to see how they juggle Halloween with all the new night festivities! I hope my kids can deal with that many nights in the park! If they can't deal with it I'll be out raging by myself I think :yay:

We will be there July 9th to 25th !!! Booked for the dates that suited us only coincidence that we are there for the actual date.

This will be our 4th trip to DL :)

I booked Camelot Inn just two days ago. The price of the onsite hotels didn't appeal, and all the offsites that are close by seem much of a muchness. This was the cheapest, using a discount code on Rates to Go.

I can't imagine kids saying 'no' to going back to Disneyland for the night...! lol

It looks to be an Australian site so I think it would be in AUD

Characters in Halloween Costumes!!!! (if you're into characters that is). Never done this one personally but have been to MVMCP in WDW twice and if you're a character person it is so worth it.
