We started the dogs on this food a couple of months ago. They seem to like it except for those rabbit life source bits. I keep finding them all over the kitchen floor and family room rug. Anyone else have the same experience?

I tried it about a year ago and my dog absolutely hated it. She would sniff it and walk away or eat little bites of it and spit it back on the floor. Then she would spend the rest of the night begging for cheese, peanut butter and treats. We ended up switching back to Science Diet. She eats that no problem and doesn't beg for treats after.

I feed it to my dog occassionally. I switch between Avoderm, Natural Balance, and Blue Buffalo for him....whichever is on sale when I am at the store. He eats it all, but then he isn't picky. We only give him 1/4 can at night mixed with dry (he gets all dry in the morning) so I think he sees it more as a treat than anything else. He seems to like it though and eats everything.

I also feed it to my cats (obviously the cat food, LOL). One inhales it and will lick the plate spotless. The other will eat it and then instantly puke it back up. She has this reaction with several other brands, but with Blue Buffalo it comes back up almost immediately. I do buy it for the other cat when it is on sale and just feed the puker another brand when I use it. The cats I buy Avoderm, Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Tangers, Solstice and a few other brands. I am very fussy about what I feed them, but I do try to buy whatever of the "good" brands is on sale to save a little money. Blue Buffalo seems to be one of the better brands I have found though for the price!

we switched to Blue Buffalo a while back for our Golden with a twitchy tummy and allergies. She loves the food, doesn't pick out the little bits. My wallet doesn't love the price tag, it's $50 for 30 lbs. Lately we've started mixing it 1/2 and 1/2 with Costco's chicken/rice dog food, at $24 for 40 lbs. Neither brand contains corn or wheat, which is important for our dog. I buy the large breed Blue Buffalo so she gets the extra glucosamine/condroitin without having to mess with supplements.

Costco has both chicken/rice and lamb/rice adult dog foods, but the chicken has a higher protein content.

My dog HATES Blue Buffalo. I rotate brands with each bag, as he is picky. But he just refuses to eat Blue Buffalo. I generally feed Canidae, Innova, Taste of the Wild, Wellness, (these are his favorites) but have fed a few other premium brands. I made the mistake of buying a bag of Blue Buffalo this month because I had a $5 coupon and I'd forgotten how much my dog hates it. Big mistake. He won't eat it and now I have to give it away to my brother's dog who will eat anything.

I am trying it out now and my dogs are not impressed. My sister loves it for her cats.

California Natural seemed to be very good with one of my dogs. However it was not for the other. I am trying to find a food that is sympatico with both of them.

Next up will be Chicken Soup.
