rhiannonwales said:At risk of sounding rude why is it that when someone posts a question about a SPECIFIC limo company, its always followed by 13 posts about ANOTHER company? Its not just here, i once posted on TGM asking about experiences with Wheels 2 Wings transportation and even specifically asked people NOT to post about any other company.Sure enough i got about 5 posts about Sunray.

chasbos said:Good point rhiannonwales.
When someone asks for information about a specific subject - like Southern Elegance, I would expect that only info on that company would be given.
When I see posts about other companies, I would personally not use them - for that reason.
Now if I asked for suggestions on a car service in general - then it is free game to who posts.
yayagoofy said:You are not rude, you are very perceptive, I've noticed the same thing. Most (nearly all) of the transportation companies posting their messages on this website are fairly new. All they are doing is looking for exposure/free advertising. The well established, quality, Orlando limousine and towncar companies that have been around for many years are rarely mentioned on this website. Because they don't post their own messages here.

Lewisc said:I've never used Sunray but there is at least one poster has such great experiences with the company that she suggests that Sunray is the only, or at least THE BEST, way to get from MCO to WDW.
maine_jennifer said:Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm a Sunray addict. Yes, I admit that I'm probably the person to which Lewis is referring. And I am one of the people on the TGM boards that rhiannonwales referred to. Yes, my recommendations sometimes appear to be over the top and i've even been accused of Sunray body art - total false by the way! But I truly believe that the service I receive with them is worth sharing. And for the many times I've shared my recommendation, I have only recieved "hey they were great" e-mails and PM's. Which to me proves that it's not just a fluke.
When someone asks about a certain company, to me they're telling us that they're out looking for a car service. The only way I can help is to offer my opinion. If I've used the company they're asking about, I post about it. More likely though, I haven't, so I post about my good experiences. I am trying to be helpful to someone looking for a car service and share my experience with company that has lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Every time someone posts about X or Y companies I've used and been disappointed in, I could get on and just write up a storm about how awful they were. Personally though, I'd rather recommend a company I know has given me the service I am looking for than than dwell on the negatives of other car services I have used who have failed to live up to my expectations.
Yes, for me, Sunray is the best way to get to and from MCO. And my recommendations are entirely selfish. I have nothing to gain from recommending them, but I do so because I want them to stay in business. That way, I don't have to look for another car company to meet my expecations on the several trips a year I take to Orlando.
If my opinion bothers you, feel free to ignore me as Lewis says. Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last. I know who my "duuuuudes" are and that's all that really matters.
Cheers!
It's ok - I know.I wasn't accusing you of doing anything wrong
Yup, that's me.just an example of a very happy consumer "spreading" the good word.
I'm not aware about this (or the truth of this claim), but I can only speak from my past experience at the exceptional service they offer.CarolA said:Southern Elegance has been off ever since they put on THEIR web site a claim that they were "VOTED #1 BY READERS OF THE DIS BOARDS" (or something to that effect) Yes, they were voted #1 in a poll. Poll had three options and something like TEN voters! The "claim" was removed at the request of the board owners, but they had a poster over here just posting away about how wonderful they were.

And once I see them and identify them the limo company goes OFF my list.

One trick I use is when there is a poster with something like 4 posts I check the history. If ALL of their posts are "YYYY Limo is WONDERFUL", I smell a troll! Southern Elegance had a poster who posted once a day "THe best limo company I have ever used" That was ALL she ever posted!

I'm not the only one either - they have a 100% 5* rating - Limos.com
