southern elegance limousines

I checked the BBB and they check out ok. But I was wondering if anyone has used these guys before? :confused3

Yes, we used them for our transportation to the port when we went on our Disney Cruise.

They were great with the kids, had pop on ice for us, and had a whole stack of DVD's for us to pick from (we had the white stretch limo).

We would definitely use them again.

We've always used Tiffany Towncar's limo. Never had any problems with them, very pleasent and professional at all times. They also had soft drinks and videos available for us. They have a site http://www.tiffanytowncars.com/ where you can check their rates, cars, vans , limo's and thier rates.

At risk of sounding rude why is it that when someone posts a question about a SPECIFIC limo company, its always followed by 13 posts about ANOTHER company? Its not just here, i once posted on TGM asking about experiences with Wheels 2 Wings transportation and even specifically asked people NOT to post about any other company.Sure enough i got about 5 posts about Sunray.

You are not rude, you are very perceptive, I've noticed the same thing. Most (nearly all) of the transportation companies posting their messages on this website are fairly new. All they are doing is looking for exposure/free advertising. The well established, quality, Orlando limousine and towncar companies that have been around for many years are rarely mentioned on this website. Because they don't post their own messages here.

Good point rhiannonwales.

When someone asks for information about a specific subject - like Southern Elegance, I would expect that only info on that company would be given.

When I see posts about other companies, I would personally not use them - for that reason.

Now if I asked for suggestions on a car service in general - then it is free game to who posts.

I didn't answer this post as I don't know anything about this company. I do mention a different company when people ask about towncars, as I have used them many times and I am very, very pleased with them. I do not work for the company. It would be a little tough since I am in Pennsylvania and they are in Florida.
Maybe people are just giving you an alternative, if you don't get any responses about the company you are asking about.

JMHO

This is a public message board. Some posters, try to be helpful, and give different information. Ask about a specific restaurant, hotel or even rental agency and you'll get similar responses. I agree some of the responses may be from company shills. I've never used Sunray but there is at least one poster has such great experiences with the company that she suggests that Sunray is the only, or at least THE BEST, way to get from MCO to WDW.

Most people are trying to be helpful and people should just ignore posts and posters that annoy them.

I'll agree there are a handful of towncar that market via advertising on Disney boards and in some cases spamming those boards. I'm sure there are other companies that also give good service.

I've heard some good things about Southern Elegance on these boards...so you should be fine.
Now, as to the towncar companies posting here....I really haven't seen that for myself....at least not to a huge degree. I have posted about some of those 'well established, quality' companies myself in the past. I think it does a disservice to just say that posts about particular towncar companies are being posted by someone who works for/owns that particular company.

As for another poster saying that they won't use a particular towncar company if they see 'unsolicited' (my word) postings from that company...well, that's a bit unfair. I have offered my different experiences with companies that weren't mentioned specifically in an OP post. To think that someone wouldn't use that particular company because they thought it was the company 'advertising' is upsetting to me. I guess I won't be offering any unsolicited advice anymore!!

I recommend Southern Elegance 100%.

Incredible service, beautiful limousines and great prices. They even included a huge Mickey Mouse soft toy in our limo - plus Lilo & Stitch and other Disney movies on DVD. Our driver, George, is always curteous and friendly. He is a gem and I request him every time.

I really cannot say enough about the true quality of this incredible company.

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm a Sunray addict. Yes, I admit that I'm probably the person to which Lewis is referring. And I am one of the people on the TGM boards that rhiannonwales referred to. Yes, my recommendations sometimes appear to be over the top and i've even been accused of Sunray body art - total false by the way! But I truly believe that the service I receive with them is worth sharing. And for the many times I've shared my recommendation, I have only recieved "hey they were great" e-mails and PM's. Which to me proves that it's not just a fluke.

When someone asks about a certain company, to me they're telling us that they're out looking for a car service. The only way I can help is to offer my opinion. If I've used the company they're asking about, I post about it. More likely though, I haven't, so I post about my good experiences. I am trying to be helpful to someone looking for a car service and share my experience with company that has lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Every time someone posts about X or Y companies I've used and been disappointed in, I could get on and just write up a storm about how awful they were. Personally though, I'd rather recommend a company I know has given me the service I am looking for than than dwell on the negatives of other car services I have used who have failed to live up to my expectations.

Yes, for me, Sunray is the best way to get to and from MCO. And my recommendations are entirely selfish. I have nothing to gain from recommending them, but I do so because I want them to stay in business. That way, I don't have to look for another car company to meet my expecations on the several trips a year I take to Orlando.

If my opinion bothers you, feel free to ignore me as Lewis says. Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last. I know who my "duuuuudes" are and that's all that really matters.

Cheers!

I was thinking about you when I posted but you're not the only poster who has a favorite company/restaurant/resort they like to rave about.

I didn't mention you by name because my point also refers to other posters and because I wasn't accusing you of doing anything wrong, just an example of a very happy consumer "spreading" the good word.

Although I don't think it's true, your posts do read like someone who gets a commission or someone who's related to the owner/driver of Sunray.

I'll say there are relatively few bad posts regarding any of the major towncar companies. Most of the complaints are with companies that farm out their excess business.

It's ok - I know. :thumbsup2 Didn't take it that way. Since I have nothing to hide, I just wanted to stand up and be counted. Besides, there are worse things to be known for!!!

Yup, that's me.

I have seen shills on here.

And once I see them and identify them the limo company goes OFF my list.

Southern Elegance has been off ever since they put on THEIR web site a claim that they were "VOTED #1 BY READERS OF THE DIS BOARDS" (or something to that effect) Yes, they were voted #1 in a poll. Poll had three options and something like TEN voters! The "claim" was removed at the request of the board owners, but they had a poster over here just posting away about how wonderful they were.

One trick I use is when there is a poster with something like 4 posts I check the history. If ALL of their posts are "YYYY Limo is WONDERFUL", I smell a troll! Southern Elegance had a poster who posted once a day "THe best limo company I have ever used" That was ALL she ever posted!

I'm not aware about this (or the truth of this claim), but I can only speak from my past experience at the exceptional service they offer.

I'm not the only one either - they have a 100% 5* rating - Limos.com

You know....now that I get to thinking (after you jogged my mind!!) I do remember that situation here. I knew that name was ringing a bell for some other reason. Thanks for the reminder!!! I do the same thing if it's a new poster with a small post count.

Well that got me curious so off I went.

Before you take "Limos.com" as the gospel truth

" Limos.com accepts feedback reviews only for Limos.com advertisers.
Non-Limos.com services are not listed. "

"* Limos.com reserves the right to refuse any review from public view for any reason. Anonymous reviews are not posted. Reviews which cannot be verified are not posted. Reviews which are submitted by limo services on behalf of clients are not posted"

I then typed in the following words in the search

Trans.... companies appeared. 20 companies appeared. 10 of them had 5 start ratings. The other 10 had no reviews

Florida... 7 companies appeared... 3 of them had 5 star ratings. The others had no reviews

Atlanta....2 companies appeared One had a 5 star rating the other had no review

Nashville... 1 companie no rating no review

Now this is not scientific, but WHAT do you have to do NOT to get a five star review on that site!

When someone asks about a certain company, to me they're telling us that they're out looking for a car service.

Oh, I thought they were out looking for info about that certain company. ;)

To the OP, we've used Southern Elegance twice, and have them booked for our July trip. First two times were the stretch limos, and now we're going wild with the stretch excursion.
I like it that they don't automatically include gratuities so that I can use my own judgement on how I liked the service, I liked their quick emails, they were on time, the drivers were friendly and helpful. I can't think of one negative.

Hope that helps!

I have used other limo companies in the past without any serious issues, but my last 4 trips I have used Southern Elegance and will use them again for my upcoming trip in May. I can tell you that they have worked with me through airline flight changes, have always been prompt, courteous, and the cars have always been spotless. For these reasons I will continue to use them and have no hesitation in reccommending this company.

Thanks everybody for the info. I have decided to use these guys. My wife and I are going to WDW in june (3rd) time and I'm ready to try something that doesnt say Mears on it.
