Anybody ever had a headache that won't go away??

I have had a killer one since Sunday night. It starts at about the middle of the back of my head and runs into my neck. Finally broke down and went to the doctor today. He seemed a little bumfuggled......First he thought anyorism(sp?) but ruled that out because I didn't have any of the neurological symptoms....

He gave me some heavy duty advil....800 mgs. and ordered blood work. If it isn't better by Friday he wants a CAT scan.....That will be a waste of time.....CAT Scan on my head won't show diddly....

This sucks......

Tony I wanted so bad to respond to the "won't show diddly" part but since your feeling bad I won't!

You know head and neck pain is one of the main symptoms of West Nile too. Just a thought!

I had a sinus headache that didn't go away for days but that was more around my eyes.

I actually had the same kind of headache about 3 weeks ago. Went to the Dr too. Turned out it was a virus that was going around....Went away after about 5 days.

I also had a very slight fever and felt a bit tired.

Sorry to hear you are feeling bad, Tony. I don't have any advice for you. I am one of those people who have headaches almost everyday! Mine are sinus and/or stress related. Sure hope you feel better soon, though. Let us know how you feel!

Tony, Welcome to the wonderful world of migraines! I was down on Monday and Tuesday with one that would not respond to my usual meds. Weather changes bring mine on. What's the weather been like down your way?

Just about the only time I get a headache that won't go away is when I haven't had enough caffeine. It will hurt for days. Each time I try to cut down, it changes my mind. And I have no more than 2 cans a day.
