Greetings board members, I have a question for you guys. Has anybody ever eaten dinner at Biergarten? My wife her family and I are going to be making reservations there and I am curious as to how the food and atmosphere is. You see I have never eaten anything more exotic than chinese food, never had german food before. So if anybody can give me advise as to what to try and what to stay away from I would appreciate it. Also is the polka band really good or really annoying...lol :rotfl2:

Biergarten is great! Since it is a buffet, there is a huge variety of foods with something for everyone. There are salads, cheeses, cold meats, a soup, really yummy pretzel bread, lots of German dishes (meats and a cheesy noodle dish that is delicious), a carving station, plus desserts. You can be adventurous or play it safe with this buffet. I'd just put a little bit of everything on my plate to sample and then get seconds on what I really liked.

I agree. One of my favorites.

If you'll use the search function at the top of the page to look up "Biergarten" you'll find lots of old threads about this restaurant.

Biergarten is a must do on every trip for our family. The music is great and the buffet is very good. There are many selections to choose from.

DW and I ate there for the first time last month. I don't consider her overly adventurous dining wise. She is a true red white & blue meat and potatoes kind of gal. :goodvibes

While she didn't sample eveything at Biergarten she really enjoyed it. I made a pig of myself. We are not polka afficianados but enjoyed the band and the theming of the room. We were also just a party of two and shared a table with two other couples. No problem there. They were fine company.

I know my mom and dad (70 ish) would enjoy it if we took them.

Absolutely one of our favorites. We do it almost every year we are at Disney. Great food, great atmosphere, great time!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

And don't forget the beer!

It's a great place to eat, but remember that you might be seated with others. The tables generally seat 8 diners and it is very common to be placed at a table with other diners unless your party fills up a table.

We really enjoy it here! There is plenty of traditional German food but some simple stuff too (hot dogs etc). The pretzel bread is AMAZING!! The band is fun and the kids love to dance to it!

It is communal seating (e.g. big tables with more than 1 family sitting together) but for us- that is half the fun!

We just love it!::yes::
The food, beer and band are wonderful.
Cant wait to go again in December.

A little know fact ... if you dont want to do the big buffet, you can order from the counter service area and then go sit inside and listen to the music!

You have to sit on the top row, but who cares! It saved us a bunch of money and we still got the great german music and food!

Thanks. I've eaten here maybe 15 times and didn't know that!

That 32-ounce beer after walking the park all day is heaven on earth. Good food, too, better than I had expected.

We just got back and ate at Biergarten on Thursday night. Let me say it was wonderful :lovestruc . Even the picky kids found things that they loved. Wonderful atmosphere too. You really feel like you're eating outside.

If you eat here you must try the Bavarian cheesecake. Absolutely heavenly... :cloud9:

Biergarten is a 'must do' for my family every visit - sometimes twice in one visit. Yes, we like it that much! Wonderful variety. Just make certain that if you want potato salad, you're not putting herring salad on your plate. The only thing to salvage this mistake is alot of beer! Have fun!

Biergarten is AWESOME!!! We eat there every time - we usually go for the lunch buffet - much cheaper than dinner - and pretty much the same stuff.

Be sure to eat Spaetzle!!! They are these doughy noodles sauteed in cheese and onion and they are HEAVENLY!! My grandma used to make us spaetzle when I was a kid, and the ones at Biergarten are true, authentic, German spaetzle!!!

Enjoy!!!
