Anybody else worried Rivers of Light will also disappoint?

I'm worried it's fantasmic 2.0...

Cause that jumped the shark long ago.

And is it possible to love Disney but not be enthralled with the parades/fireworks?

Yes...absolutely...and I wish more people would do it...because too many have In recent years tried to make the parades and fireworks to be more important than they are...

They are a complimentary piece...not the price of admission. One part of what should be an evolving, better experience...

Certainly not worth the price of the cupcakes ;)

From what I've heard Rivers of Light is more like illuminations without pyro. Meaning it doesn't have character ties and has a lot of conceptual stuff.

I hope ROL is fantastic, but even if it turns out to be a disappointment, I'm excited that AK has longer hours! Woo Hoo!

The seating is clearly awful. Beyond that I won't judge it yet but then shows don't matter much to us and with one exception (FOLK) aren't why we go to WDW.

Well I think the seating is bad because it wasn't designed for a show like jungle book. The seating was built for rivers of light which will encompass the entire lagoon instead of what they are doing for jungle book.

We shall see. I think that the seating is too limited but in fairness its hard to judge until the show starts.

I believe ROL will be quite spectacular if they can get all the components working properly.

Hopefully it will be a "When" they get the components working instead of "If" they get the components working!

I don't care how good or bad the show is. If it is the driving force in keeping AK open past dark, I'm happy. There is something magical about the park after dark and in all our trips over the last 10 years, we've only got to experience that once.

I'm hopeful about that as well, and I do have a lot of faith in what Disney can accomplish. I'm quite sore over the whole Jungle Book show debacle, and it's taken some wind out of my Disney sails. Maybe that's why I say 'if'. IMO someone made an extremely poor judgment call in that situation - it should have stayed dark, rather than presenting such a disappointing placeholder.
