Anybody else "spoiled" by WDW fireworks?

I just can't get up for waiting in 95 degree weather for our local 4th of July fireworks! A month ago, we saw Fantasmic, Wishes twice and Illuminations twice. I'm spolied!

Yup know how you feel. We had some fireworks about a month ago in my town. I was lucky enough that I had prime viewing from my front porch (no waiting on the curb for an hour) and even though I had a margarita in my hand it sure didn't feel like sitting in Mexico watching Illuminations!!!! No music and NO floating earth ball what's up with that? LOL!!!

Okay, I'm not the only one. Thank goodness! DH and I were talking to his brother and daughters last night about the local fireworks. They wanted us to go with them and we were hemming and hawing around. They will be going with us to WDW in September for their first ever trip. Maybe they will be ruined too!

We sadly compare all the fireworks we see w/ Disney too. It gets to the point our friends and family get sick of hearing it. We're hopeless I guess.

Oh, we all know it's not just the fireworks....it's everything. We're spoiled, we know it, we love it, and those who don't understand it think we're crazy.

That's funny, I thought we were the only one who thought that!

We have a fireworks display here..small thing really, the grucci fireworks in NYC! My DH & I were thinking of taking the kids to see it but its kind of a hassle & very crowded...He said to me yesterday "Wait 2 more months & you can see the "real" fireworks at Disney!"

Count me in the 'spoiled by WDW fireworks' group! So much so that I went ahead and planned a short, last-minute trip to WDW; we're leaving Monday morning and staying for just 2 nights. We spent the Fourth at WDW last year, and all other prospects for this year's July 4th entertainment just paled in comparison.

Not from WDW fireworks but we live in an area where the local minor league baseball team has Fireworks just about every weekend and we can see them from our house.

It has definitely lessened the "Wow" factor of the 4th of July fireworks, when we can just look out the window just about any Friday & Saturday night in the summer and see them (plus the fact that occasionally the booms wake the baby up, so that just annoys me then! But the older kids love it and hey they get to stay up late!). Doesn't make them a only get to see this once a year special.

Actually, we think it might affect our thoughts of the fireworks at Disney. We don't really have any plans to make a special effort to see them.

I know this year, DH was just talking about he thinks he's going to stay home on the 4th and not go see the Fireworks (I will still take the kids though, but if it weren't for the kids, I wouldn't fight the crowds either!).

We go to WDW the week after the 4th so we will see what happens then.

Spoiled too. We saw the Jult 4th fireworks in Oklahoma City last year. Not too exciting. There was only one in the sky at a time until the "grand finale." I'm sure the fireworks were great for most people but not for us spoiled individuals.

I know. We live in the second largest city in my state and I always think that the fireworks stink in comparison.

I love fireworks but they just aren't as good.

And I understand that WDW's 4th of July fireworks are the best that they put on. Oh, I wish I had planned a weekend there. I didn't realize the the 4th would be a long weekend, it's going to feel even longer because we're not there!!

That's hilarious. I was just thinking the same thing today. My DW wanted to 'do something' for the 4th (only for us, it will be 113 degrees). All I could think of is how disappointed I would be after last year's 4th display at Epcot. Maybe I'll just watch the video again instead

We've been to see the Macy's extravaganza on the East River a time or two, and it just can't compare with what Disney does night after night in the Magic Kingdom. The synchronization between music and explosions at WDW is a small work of genius -- and they look so spectacular, to boot!

I'm with all of you. My DW is trying to get me excited about going to our local fireworks, but all I can think of is seeing Tinkerbell fly down and the music playing and fireworks in the shape of Mickey's and.... well as you can tell, it just ain't Disney.

I'm spoiled too. Every year the State Fair has fireworks and I'm just never impressed. My friend stares at me like I'm crazy when I say I didn't like them, but she's never been to Disney. The fair's grand finale is like the norm for Disney fireworks, and they're missing Tink, a castle, and a floating Earth.

I just made that comment last night (July 2). We were at a minor league baseball game & they had fireworks after. It was OK, but I was wishing I was at WDW!
