I love to bowl. Friends and I usually do cosmic bowling every weekend. I am pretty good, but I am on certainly no league.

Bowling is one of those things that I don't really want to do until I start doing it and then I really like it once the balls start rolling. Then I can't wait until I can do it again.

I'm not sure which poll option I should choose.

They don't offer that at my college. But if they did - I sure would take it. They didn't offer it at my highschool until I graduated.

I hated that class with a passion, which is the funny part but I did learn a bit. It was at 6:30am every Monday and Wednesday for a whole freaking semester. It was a miracle I made it.

Bowling shoes scare me...

as do professional bowlers...they just all look sort of "greasy"...kind of like chiropracters....

My fear stems from my childhood...my mom bowled in a league...she took my sister and I with her...being around all those old ladies (not my mom) with lady mustaches who smoked, and talked with raspy voices...and little puffs of cig smoke would come out of their mouth when they spoke...while wearing those bowling shirts.....just the thought brings me shivvers....

Waiting up at 6:30 in the morning to bowl. Well that would actually lead me away from bowling.

I love bowling. Especially Candlepin bowling. I think it's more of a New England thing though. Basically the ball is a lot smaller (it fits comfortablly in one hand) the pins are tall and skinny, and you get three balls every frame instead of two. Typically your average score is quite a bit lower too.
There's also something called duck-pin bowling which uses the same small ball as candlepin, but the pins are the pins from regular bowling (you still get three balls, though).
I also enjoy regular bowling. I remember when I first did it thinking how easy it was because the ball was so big. In fact on my second game of regular bowling I bowled a 180. Since then my average has dropped down to about a 140, though.

And of course, there is now bowling on the Wii, which is also a blast!!!!

My Dh bowls league and I love to go watch him. Sometimes we will go with friends for a night out and I do enjoy it but am done after one game. My favorite part is gossiping with the girls and drinking beer while the guys bowl.

I have scored anywhere from 54 to 288 with no rhyme or reason or skill, just plain luck......or unluck depending on the score.
