Oops! I've been absent! Probably because I haven't been running

...but I have been exercising

. Today, I went out on the road. We are starting to get a bit of a thaw and we're looking at record highs on Friday and Saturday (mid 50's!)...of course, I have to work 10a-10p on Friday and 7a-7p on Saturday

. I went a total of 5.07 miles today in just over an hour (1:01:22 to be exact). I was just slightly over a 12-minute/mile pace which is where I want to be for the 1/2 marathon. I'm shooting for a 13-minute/mile pace. Today I had to walk a little more than I would have liked to. I probably could have pushed myself through it, but since I haven't been out on the road running in several weeks, I didn't want to overdo it. Heck, I probably only should have gone 2-3 miles, but that 5 mile mark is such a motivation.
Even more motivating was that earlier this week, I stepped on the scale and saw 155! WTH? That can't be right! It was

....but I had a little bender last night (carrot cake...my evil nemesis

) and I was up to 158 this morning

. So, it's back to no cake or french fries for me

.
On a side note, my husband kicked his beer habit (not alcoholism level...he just drank 2-3 beers a night, 3 nights a week) and he has lost 10 pounds in just over three weeks

. He's back to doing his strength training and cardio again so I need to step it up a notch too. We leave for HHI in less than 3 months and I *will* have a better beach body than he does before we leave
