Anybody else having Thanksgiving on Friday?

My family has Thanksgiving on Friday. It makes it so easy. I spent the whole day at my MIL's today and I will spend all day at my dad's tomorrow.

The only problem I had was cooking. I needed more chicken broth for the dressing. DH had to go to five stores before he found one that was open tonight. Now I have made the dressing and three pies. Only four more pies to go. Because Thanksgiving is on Friday, we have a lot of people for dinner. We will have around 40 people, so I am making a lot of pies.

Nope, not this year, but we have in years past! It was great.

We actually have two Thanksgivings at my house this year. We recently built an inlaw apartment on our house (over the summer) So this year we had his mother/her husband, his sister/her son over. MIL cooked the turkey, turnips and stuffing (or dressing--whatever YOU call it LOL) corn & gravy. SIL brought over the green bean casserole and a pie. And I made the mashed potatoes and a bunch of desserts. So my DH asked me to buy an extra turkey to make for today so we have ALOT of leftover turkey (we don't usually get any leftover turkey when you eat elsewhere, so he wanted to make sure we had some) LOL

So we had our traditional T-day yesterday and today I'll cook up another turkey to go along with all the leftovers.

I'm making Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday since we were elsewhere yesterday. My husband wants the leftovers too since we didn't take any yesterday. Plus then my daughter can bring some goodies with her back t school>
