Anybody else gettin ready for MVMCP 2006?

I am working on DH and scheming to go in December.

When we got back in October, DH says "We are DEFINITELY not going back to Disney next year. We need a couple of years off" Well, he started talking vacation the other day and throwing around Universal Studios as an alternative. Wouldn't ya know, the first thing out of his mouth was, "I just can't see going all the way down there without going to DW, I just don't think it would compare, we are so spoiled with Disney, the kids, we would have to take the kids at least for just a few days..."

Soooo, I am hoping to seal the deal and go in December and hit MVMCP. We've never been at Christmastime. We usually go in Oct for MNSSHP and just love it, but I just want to see the decorations and the Candlelight Processional, etc.

For those that have been, is it crowded the week after Thanksgiving/first week of December?

Crossing my fingers and hoping for a little pixie dust....

I read that the first MVMCP is usually the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That will be our first day in the parks. Does anyone know what the crowd is like for that night?

Just an FYI... Its been the Sunday after Thanksgiving for the past 4 years but in 2000 and 2001, when Thanksgiving fell early in the month, the first party wasn't until a week after Thanksgiving. In 2000, the first party was Thurs, Nov 30 and in 2001, the first party was Thurs, Nov 29.

Of course, every year it seems that Disney adds more parties so it could still start right after Thanksgiving. We'll probably know by April what the dates are.

Dec. 9-17 here! I'm VERY excited about MVMCP! We went a few years ago and LOVED it! It was about 37 degrees at that 2nd parade though! It was actually warmer back in MN that day as opposed to FL! Anyway!
When do the tickets become available again? is it 180 days out? Where do we get them? We had the concierge get them last time when we arrived but no such posh luck this time. We're goin' on the cheap.
Didn't take advantage of the cocoa and cookies and special MVMCP "buys" last time, we will this time!!!! Feels like a LONG wait! Looks like a bunch O people going about the same days.

beattyfamily - Thank you for the stats on MVMCP after Thanksgiving. I am hoping that it will start the Sunday after Thanksgiving this year too. We are staying an extra night just to go to the Sunday party.

Now for the begging.... Oh, PLEEEEASE, PLEEEASE have the first MVMCP on the Sunday after Thanksgiving this year!!

We'll be there too !! We're staying at the POFQ from Nov 30th-Dec 3rd then 4 nights on the Disney Wonder. We plan on going to MVMCP on Dec 1st. We're taking my parents and this will be a first for both MVMCP and DCL for them. I just wish it would get here already. Also, sprinkle some pixie dust my Dad's way, he just had 3 hosptial stays in the past 2 weeks and had 2 stents placed and had a blood clot in his main coronary artery. I want him to be healthy enough to enjoy the trip. Good thing he has 10 months to rest and recover.

Count me in! We are going 2 be there Nov 30-Dec2, and heading out on our first cruise Dec 2. We will hit MVMCP either the Thursday we arrive, or Friday. We will definately be at US/IOA for the day on Friday, but at that time of year should be able to do all of our favourites in both parks in the one day. Does anybody know if MVMVP usually runs on both the Thursday AND Friday nights? I would prefer to go to MVMCP the evening we arrive so that I can stay at US until closing the next day.

After the cruise we will head directly to AK, and spend the day there before our flight home.

We're planning to go while we are there Nov. 30-Dec.5. Our first Christmas trip and we're very excited. At least we have the August trip to look forward to while we wait.

I AM SO EXCITED!!! MVMCP and my birthday in one trip!! We'll be down there Dec. 9 -16th and it can't get here soon enough!!! (Seriously, there are days I'm more excited about this trip than my wedding!!! lol!)

I started planning my trip for 2006 when we left in Dec 2005!!

LOL! I'll be doing the same thing this year! I'll be making our Halloween 2007 reservations before we ever leave for our Christmas 2006 WDW vacation! (Gotta take advantage of those Annual Passes!!!)

So, you can add us to the Christmas/December list! We'll be in WDW Dec. 17th - 28th! We're planning on going to MVMCP on the last night. We usually do two parties (MVMCP or MNSSHP) each trip, but since we'll be there during Christmas week, I don't think we'll need to. We can't wait!!!

I can't wait for the Christmas party! DH and I loved it during 2004, and can't wait to take along our family so they can experience some of that Christmas magic!
