I was so disappointed in the AP rates the last two years I swore I would not renew mine in February but now looking at their rates for Jan/Feb I don't know what to do!:earseek:

I started getting tired of waiting on the discounts, so I joined DVC and I'm paying off the loan ASAP (only have a small amount left on original investment) Now I know I'll have the accommodations I want, at a great price. (love receiving my express check-out with ~0~balance) If I calculated my first six stays at rack rate I have already gotten my investment back so you may want to look in to DVC. Because we live so close to WDW I can also take week-end trips using the AP or Florida Residents discounts just icing on the cake not having to wait on the discounts to come out.
If I were you I would take advantage of the rates now, never know what they will be in the furture. You'll only have to purchase one Annual Pass to receive room discount. Hope this helped.:earsboy:

About 3 years ago, we had AP's and enjoyed the discounts and went often. We haven't had one since for that very reason. And, the room only codes were so good there for awhile.

But, we're considering getting them again because it appears the discounts are coming back. BUT who really knows for sure. The price sure has gone up - I think it's $392 per person, or something like that. I recall them being in the $200's. We're really laboring over this decision as well. The thing is, we love staying at deluxe resorts but don't want/can't pay rack rate. It doesn't appear room only codes are that popular anymore and that's another reason we're considering going back to APs. I'm thinking if I can get a rate of $179 at the YC/BC (our favorite resort) and visit the World at twice in one year it's worth the money.

I'd love to hear others' opinions on this too.

I joined DVC too, but I only bought 150pt so I like to stay at the other resorts on the weekends. So the AP rate has helped there. I mainly like them because if you time your trips right, even going once a year, it's cheaper. I'm getting 3 trips out of my current AP but haven't decided if I'll renew in June or not. I'm going again Thanksgiving 2004 so I may let it lapse and buy again then. As you can see, I'm struggling with this question right now too.

We've been happy with the ap discounts over the last couple of years. We've been getting great deals. We've also rented dvc points, which is a great deal too. :)
