I haven't even passed ROFR on my very first contract yet, and already I have to SIT ON MY HANDS every. single. time. a new small contract gets posted on TSS! :lmao:

this is going to be one heck of an addiction! I already told DH that when all was said and done, I was going to have a nice little collection of very small contracts.

The urge I can't resist is to check my email 800 times a day (and I'm sure this is not an exaggeration) waiting to hear on my ROFR status. I'm not a member yet, and Disney ROFR'd my first attempt. If they don't approve me soon, I may explode!

I'm right there with you....I bought direct from Disney and my contract isn't even officially closed yet and I can think of nothing else other than more points MORE POINTS :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I feel your pain! How long have you been waiting? I've only been waiting 10 days, but that feels like an eternity because I am desperate to get a studio at BCV at the end of August, and I'm freaking out that there won't be any availability! :rotfl:

I'm waiting too! I have stopped coming up with vacation scenerios on the contract I'm waiting on....it will hurt too much if I lose it :rotfl2:

But I am not really getting my hopes up....we bid pretty close to the ROFL line, if I had to guess I would say this one doesn't have a chance. And in that case I want to have another one ready :)

This waiting is really obnoxious though, all my vacation planning for the year is on hold! We were planning on going in Sept, but if we get this contract we will go in May (some expiring 08pts we will have to use), and probably again in Dec (make good on the last 2010 adventure season rates!)

What about ya'll? When are you *hoping* to travel if your contracts go through?

I've been waiting 14 days on this bid, but I submitted my first bid 12/30 to Disney, so I feel like I've been waiting forever!

I'm almost positive mine won't get ROFR'd (knocking on wood...). $95/point for a 25 pt BCV contract. I think I'm probably safe.

Luv2scrap I am on day 9 today. That was smart to bid safely! We figured this is our first try let's test the limit of ROFL.....but I had no idea what agony waiting was going to be! Def not worth the extra $2-3/pt to go through this again! Well, I say that now but if Disney says yes I will be SO jazzed to have the points at such a steal :) We'll see I guess.....

Hope yours goes through easy and there is a studio ready for you at BCV this Aug :thumbsup2

I know what you mean!!! We closed on our first contract late Nov, 2009 and are waiting on ROFR now for our second one...before we have taken our first trip!!! :rotfl:

There is a method to my madness though, we are paying cash for each one so that necessitates us buying small contracts each time. I know we could save some $$'s by purchasing one larger contract but this way we can leave a separate contract to each of our children. Don't tell them though....with the estate tax at zero in 2010 (for now), I don't want to give them any ideas! :scared1:

Good luck to everyone who's waiting for a response from Disney! Sending some pixie dust your way...pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

That's my thing too. I want to do this without taking out a loan. Since DH isn't a Disney nut, the only money I have to work with is my "blow" money, which also needs to get us to Disney in August.

So right now I either have to be happy with what I have now, or quickly snatch up another small contract so I can get to the $5000 minimum and take out a loan to cover both of them. I can't decide which I should do!

Unfortunately, that would mean paying two closing costs on two contracts. :headache:

I'm fighting it. I just recently paid off my 210 points and now I want more. Holding off for a BLT resale or a good VGC deal. Wanting to see incentives from Disney as well.

Oh yeah I am seriously wanting to add on. But silly me is being reasonable and trying to be financially smart. With weather the way it is and DH not working as much do to it we just don't have the extra funds put away for anything like an add on. So once we thaw out and work picks up we will discuss it then. I just don't feel comfortable touching any extra $$ until we are back to steady work.

Oh why or why do I have to be a responsible adult. The kid in me is screaming to buy buy buy!!!

Well I thought I had conquered the urge to buy, buy, and buy more points. But today it's back at full throttle. We have three contracts now and still haven't made it to our first DVC stay. And now here I am thinking maybe we will need one more?

Beware of addonitis! I check Timeshare Store website daily to see what's there. The staff there is great! Good luck to all!
