Anybody checked out Epcot's tequila cave?

All I can say is it can't be all that popular all the time because they didn't pre-mix it on Sunday.

It doesn't matter to us! (premix or mix) It's not like we get a whole lot of authentic margaritas up here in Canada! We are looking forward to having a beverage or two when we go in August. It is now definetly on our list!

I'm wondering if it was just one bartender that did that pre-mixed thing. I've had various bartenders mixing them fresh the various days I've stopped at the bar.

And I did try to order the margarita flight after 4pm when I was there in December. I was told by one of the bartenders that they stop serving those at 4pm.

Possibly! Maybe they only pre-mix it sometimes - when they are expecting large crowds and needs to "move things along quickly" at the bar. That would certainly explain the different experiences!

OMG! I'm so glad I found this thread - I am a tequila snob. I like *good* tequila and was even in the Tequila Master's Program (Google "Tommy's Mexican Restaurant San Francisco", it'll make you giggle if you're a tequila fan) but haven't graduated yet.

I'd love some good tequila...maybe a nice Chinaco reposado...mmm...

Aww, that's a bit of a let-down. We will have our boys with us...they will only be 3 and 5. Definitely not good to take them to a bar! Do you have to drink the margaritas AT the bar? We do have a lunch ADR one afternoon for San Angel Inn and I am wondering if they would allow us to buy a margarita at Cava del Tequila first and bring it into the restaurant with us. That way I could at least enjoy one of their margaritas. If not, I could get a regular margarita at San Angel. But I gotta have my margarita!!!

Do not worry! You can get any margarita on the menu from the tequila bar while you're enjoying your lunch at San Angel. We've spent a considerable amount of time at La Cava de Tequila, and even our last trip, we had dinner at San Angel. When our waiter asked what we'd like to drink, we asked if we could get any of the margaritas from the tequila bar, and he said absolutely! We were even able to upgrade our tequila to something more exotic found in the tequila bar.

These drinks are much too special to pour into a plastic cup!!! But we enjoyed the exact same margaritas we've enjoyed inside the bar sitting on the river at San Angel. And this was only a couple weeks ago.

Best margaritas ever!!! We loved this place last Sept when we were there....we actually hung out for a while.

One note though, it's really more of a bar so it's not the most child-friendly place in the world....unless you would take your children to a bar at home in which case, you're good!

Gotta tell you people DO take children in there. My friend's 2 year old was there for about an hour and a half last weekend while we had margaritas. I wouldn't expect no children. But then, we had one kid with us, and no stroller - there isn't a lot of room for strollers and not much to entertain muliple kids. (While we were sitting there a gal did come in with a big double stroller and parked it somewhere)

I've also seen kids in there -- not often, but a few times. Actually, our last night of this past trip, there was a family: Mom, Dad, a teenager, a tween, and grandparents. The grandparents were taking back shots like there was no tomorrow! The adult kids (Mom & Dad) were having some kind of fruity margarita, but not the grandparents. Shots all the way for them ... several rounds, too!

You can absolutely get margaritas to go there. They have plastic cups for that purpose. Just walk up to the bar and mention you want it "to go".

You don't have to drink at the bar, but the whole place is a bar-like atmosphere. But you can definitely take their margaritas to go. I've seen lots of people walk out of there with cups.

Thank you for posting this! I'm so happy to hear that. I really wanted to try this place when I'm there next week, but it will just be DS & me. I wouldn't be opposed to sitting at a table & getting something to eat along with a margarita & coke for DS, but looking at the menu it looks like there's nothing for him to eat there (he can't have gluten). So happy to hear I can get one to go & then stroll the WS.

I was just saying that it's not that child-friendly b/c it's essentially a bar or a tavern if you like.

For people who are cool w/ bringing their children into bars at home (no judgement from me!) they will also feel comfortable bringing children in there...more so b/c it is Disney.

Yep,If you want to get completely away from kids at WDW,I think your only option is Jellyrolls(or the Norway movie-NO ONE,Kid or Adult can be found thereLOL).
