any1 going in december 17 2005 on the west

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. My family and I just got back from our Splendour of the Seas cruise. We had a great time. Now I really want to get on the Magic!

I can't believe how the prices have jumped for this cruise. There must be a lot of people booking while on board this week for next year.

There are only guarantee left in a lot of categories.

Happy New Year!
Colleen

Welcome Nemo Mom,

Yes it will be a great time. So great getting to know people before we sail.

Lisa, I sent you my information and picture for the website. I hope it turns out.

Hi, I'm from Oregon and this is my 2nd cruise. Last time we took the Eastern. I will be 14 when we go. Last time I met a famous person and I hope to meet one again. Anybody out there famous?

Ugh! I managed to catch a nasty virus that showed up Christmas Eve afternoon so the past five days haven't exactly been alot of fun for me here, but the kids had a good Christmas. Glad that you had a nice time on your cruise, Colleen. I did get your email tonight but will wait a day or two to add it to the site. I'm still a little fuzzy and don't want to mess it up hitting the wrong button. :)

Lisa,

Sorry you caught that bug. I hope you are feeling better.
Both kids were sick on the Splendour, needed to get antibiotics for one ear infection and one nasal infection. They did remarkably well considering.

Just found the thread. We'll be joining you on this cruise. Just off the 10 christmas cruise! Me and my DW and two DDs (7 and 9). Can't stay away. This will be our 5th cruise.

Welcome to the group!!! I have been reading the reports from the 10 day cruise with envy.

We will be there too!!!! Just booked today for cat. 9. It was through cruisequick.com and it was only guaranteed. This is my first cruise, so I assume it means that we will get a cat.9 cabin.

Goofyshell: We are from BG, KY and we have a (then) DD4 and DD8. I think we just miss your kiddos' ages. Its so weird that 2 of us on this cruise from BG.

I will have a million questions before then, so bear with me.

See you all on the 12/17/05!

Glad you found us momx2, welcome! :jumping4:

I did email cruisequick and he said he couldn't better the price for us. Our rate has gone up $400 since we booked, (which was actually in August, I can't believe I booked this last August, seems like yesterday!) now I know why he couldn't match it, the cabins are selling like wildfire.

Well there will be lots of planning to do. This will be our 6th cruise. Second on Disney.

Just can't wait for that sail away party :cheer2: and meeting new friends! :grouphug:

We booked for 12/17/05 just last month. The best part is we are set to sail on 1/15/05!!! Can't wait!
We have 2 sons, will be 8 & 5 at that time, we will try to keep them in the dark for 12/05 cruise, wake them up and head to the airport!

Land and Sea,

These are secret porthole rooms, oceanview rooms (cat 9)at a inside price (cat 10):

One of the best-kept secrets on the Disney Wonder are the "secret porthole" rooms. These six rooms on Deck 5 are sold as Category 10 inside staterooms, but they have obstructed view portholes. Thus, you get sunlight and little view for "free." These rooms can be specifically requested, but book them as far in advance as possible because they go quickly. They are #5520, #5522, #5524, #5020, #5022, #5024 ( 5522 & 5524 and 5022 & 5024 are adjoiners).

Welcome Snowbirds,

Wow, two cruises in the same year, lucky kids, lucky you.

Why the name Snowbirds??

We have an 8 year old boy and 6 year old girl.

Colleen

Thats right. I read about these rooms before on here. Just forgot and couldn't figure out what that stood for. I'm sure they are all gone. But it is possible to get one if you contact inventory control and get on a waiting list. Were doing a cat. 4. It was the best avalible when I booked this through Dreams Unlimited. Booked on 12/31/04 and got the $200 credit before it expired. The price quoted on the Disney Magic with the 10% savings was more than D.U.. I got several quotes while on board and it seems its starting to get a little pricey. This will be our 5th Disney cruise.

The SPH rooms are actually the same size as the category 8s that are on the rest of deck 5 forward. :) I peeked in the one we will be in when it was being cleaned on our last cruise & was very happy with it.

I just checked the fare tonight & it has gone up another 300!!! That's 600 for a category 10 since 10/2/04!!! WOW! I am waiting to find out how much we will save by transfering the resi to a TA. Hopefully that will all be completed this week then I wont have to worry about anything else for it. :)

Welcome to everyone new! This is quite a growing group. Sounds like there will be alot of young DIS kids on the ship too.

Thanks for the welcome princessmomma. We are glad we learned of
this site. What a great idea, especially for the kids to meet others their age.
Our boys don't know about our christmas cruise yet,as a matter of fact they
think they're comeing home on 1/22/05 after we get off the ship but,we
booked a few days at port orleans french quarter. I can't believe we managed
to keep the secret for over a year!
You asked why snow birds, it was spur of the moment, so we just "winged" it!
But seriously up here in the NE if you looked out he window, you'd understand why we thought snow birds.

This cruise date works out perfect for our kids school schedules! This year we would have had to take them out a whole week if we did the cruise the week before christmas.

I see some are thinking of doing the MVMCP prior to the cruise. Were in for that! The last one of the year usualy sells out, so buy tickets early. :smooth:

We are planning to go to MK on Christmas Day so that we don't have to buy the extra tickets. Is that insane? DH's birthday is 12/25 so I would like to have him celebrate in a special way this year. It also looks like they do the parades & fireworks a couple times each day the week after Christmas. Would that be much better crowdwise?

Lisa,

Do you already have AP's? What do you mean by extra ticket?

We are thinking about doing MVMCP too! We did it one year. It was great because even though it states the party begins at 7 p.m. (I think) we actually were let in at 4:00 p.m. You only need the special ticket to get into MK. We don't have AP's. Should be a nice way to kick off the vacation.
