any1 going in december 17 2005 on the west

Hi again:

Am I correct in assuming that the children can not go to this Promenade Lounge? Are they going to be able to meet somewhere or are people just dropping them off at the kids' area before the meeting? Is the kids' area open by 3 on the first day?

Take care,

Hi everyone,

Wow, we really are in double digits!!

So Sandra, were you able to get Cinderella's ressies?

3:00 in the Promenade lounge is good for us too. It wouldn't hurt having another time to gather the next day.

I have my kids' pirate costumes, they agreed to wear them for Halloween too, so I didn't mind actually buying costumes for them! Know I need to head to goodwill and find something for DH and me. pirate:

Hi Colleen:

Yes, I did manage to get the bookings for breakfast and supper at Cinderella's Royal Table. I didn't tell my little girls about the breakfast as I am hoping to surprise them and I didn't tell my husband about the supper as that will be our anniversary surprise. I have a phone number to call and order a cake for the supper as well so that will be neat. Didn't get breakfast until 10:15 and we were hoping for earlier but I was just so happy to actually get a reservation that 10:15 will be just fine for us. Things are certainly starting to fall together now and before we know it our vacation will be here.

Is anyone else out there interested in having the children meet or are we just hoping they meet at the kids' area?

Take care,

Hi everyone,

Well I'm a little closer to being ready for the cruise. I got a cinderella dress for my youngest grandaughter, I mailed it to her today, now I hope that it fits, if not I do have time to exchange it. I also got a pirate outfit for GS, but need one for GD and myself. I'm so glad halloween is coming. There should be some good choices out there.
I finished printing my Disney iron on transfers to put on my shirts, and I even got them cut out. Now to get them on the shirts!
I laid out a couple of ideas for the door sign, but I cant seem to make up my mind. I'll probably wind up with a bunch of signs and will cover my entire door! I have been known to get a little carried away with my projects, so we'll see. DH will be paying off the cruise on sunday, so we will pick our excursions this week too, as he will be booking them when he pays off the cruise. Now it's finally starting to feel real. We are really going in just a few weeks!!Tomarrow is shopping for costumes and sunday will be a trip to WDW to have some fun and get pumped up for the cruise even more. :cheer2:
See you all very soon, :hourglass

happy happy, joy joy!!! I bought my tickets for Mickeys Very Merry!!! It makes it all the more "real"...it's getting closer...I'm soooooooooo excited (as if you couldn't tell). Don't know if we'll make the first "meet" or not...will try to persuade my kids, they will get to meet some other kids they'll be on the cruise with. But, in the end, this is their vacation. Will definitely have on my lime green though! :bounce: :bounce:

How exciting Kelley! It is getting closer - we head out to the airport 13 weeks from today! We are going to stay at Saratoga Springs the day before so that should be interesting - and get us in the mood for more Disney. I also want to take a trip over to Celebration to see what that is all about.

The kid's can meet with the adults in Promenade Lounge - that is not an area that is adult only. Do we want to try for another day and time for those that may not make it and to catch up on how everyone is doing? My "baby" is 16 so I do not have the time constraints that those of you with younger children do. Even if we met by the pool at some point - the kids could play and the adults could visit. I want to book brunch but can't decide which day - this may make a difference.

Thanks for the info, Gail. This is our first cruise and I wasn't really sure what the restrictions at that lounge were. With the kids coming then 3:00 likely wouldn't be a problem because we wouldn't have to have them settled in somewhere first. My opinion is we should plan to meet once more so that we are sure to catch everyone though but you seasoned cruisers would have a better idea than I would.

Have a great day. For us, it is 85 days today until we leave for our vacation and plans are sure getting underway now.

Take care,

 We will be cancelling our cruise next week.
We booked this cruise so long ago. The school calendar wasn't out yet, but I booked this week from the dates of Christmas break for the last 2 years. The school calendar came out last April and Christmas break doesn't start until Dec 21 this year. We thought fine, the boys would miss 3 days of school.

Aw, Kathy - I'm sorry you all won't be able to cruise and have to reschedule. Have you picked any possible dates? I was like you about the holiday dates based on previous years' experiences, but we got lucky. Kids get out mid-day on the 16th and we hit the road that afternoon.

Howdy,
Now for the good news, since we cancelled their rooms, my DH took some of the money we saved and upgraded us to a Verandah!!!! I dont know the room number yet, we will get that next month when we pay it off, then I'll post it for everyone.

Sorry your whole family won't be able to be on the cruise together, but hey - might as well spend some of that savings on a Verandah! We have one - we were able to book a Cat. 4 for way less than the Cat. 6 we had originally booked for a March sailing - so like you, we split the difference and upgraded :)

I'm just starting to look at Pirate costumes - trying to convince the kids to be Pirates for Halloween this year so we can double-use the outfits!

I look forward to meeting everyone at 3 pm on Saturday! How will we recognize each other? Should we wear specific pins or something?

Scotch,
We should be able to find each other with no problem. The promenade lounge is open to a main walkway and it has many tables and chairs to relax in. Other than dis members and bar tenders there probably wont be anybody else in there. When I have done other meets in there, we were the only ones there. Kelley's family will be in lime green. I will have a white short sleeve shirt with disney characters on it and shorts. I think if a few of us tell what we will be wearing about a week before the trip that we will find each other with no problem at all. Maybe even in the terminal as we wait to get on board. It might be fun to see who we could find while waiting in line. I always look, but have never connected with anyone. Too many excited people running around I guess.

It will be easy to spot me too, I am 6 feet tall! I get a lot of double takes and "wow, you are so tall, do you play basketball?".

Actually, it is really easy to find each other once we set a meeting place as everyone is looking. Before our Mariner of the Seas cruise, we all gave a hint about of our clothes, height, hair color, etc. and we tried to figure out who each person was. It was really quite fun.

The time and place sound great for us. If all goes well, we will be at the terminal early anxiously waiting to board. I was wondering the same thing Scotch had mentioned about pins but I guess mentioning what we'll be wearing will work too. Our family will have huge eyes looking in total awe!

We get to make our ADR's this Saturday for the 24,25 and 26th. Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants? We decided not to go into the parks and just tour the resorts. Thanks guys!

just wanted to make sure that everyone is preparing for the upcoming cruise by observing one of the most important days of the year...I'm talking of course about International Talk Like Pirate Day...Monday September 19!!!!! pirate: pirate: pirate:

Do you think the boss will let us off work for pirate day?
If not, maybe we should make him walk the plank! Arrrrrr!!
