Just wondering anyone else have a restaurant go from a zero to hero!! recently gave tony town square another chance , it was mediocre before about 3 years ago, just found it to be very good last trip!!!

:cool1:

Wow, so glad to hear that. Trying Tony's for the first time this trip and was reading bad reviews on line and second guessing myself. Feel better now since I planned the trip for the BIL and SIL and family :rotfl: Looking forward to it, along with some old favs! 16 weeks, 3 days till my first MNSSHP!

Yes...the first time we ate at Nine Dragons it was just horrible and I swore we would never go back. Well we ate there last week and the food was amazing! Same thing with Cali Grill, our last meal Nov 10 was terrible but our meal last week was to die for.

Tutto Italia for me, though it may not count since the last time we went it still had the old name. But we hadn't liked it, and were dissuaded from trying Tutto Italia this time, but it turned out to be our favorite restaurant of the trip.

We've loved Tony's the last few years......food is good and the waitstaff has been great!!

Yes, I know I mention this all the time, but here's a thread especially for it . . . . . .

For quite a while, the San Angel Inn had acquired a reputation for being "blah" . . . . or, for many guests, not quite that good.

Then the San Angel folks came along and built their companion restaurant out by the water, La Hacienda. About the time La Hacienda was opening, I went back to San Angel for the first time in quite a while. Greatly improved! Like night and day. The best meal I had ever had there, and very good service.

Perhaps they were motivated by their cousins across the walkway, but the Inn had definitely upped their game.

(OK, so the tables are still incredibly close together, you can't have everything - the food was improved!!)

For us it was ND in 2009, I really didnt want to go but DS loves chinese so we went.. We were all very impressed.

CG I thought menu sounded well complicated and fancy.. LOL I fell in love with the place, from the ambiance to the view and the food was amazing! Best sushi ever!

anyone get good a great meal at tusker house lately , first time was gret , second so/so , would love it to be like it was . i was hopeful second time was a fluke

update on tony's . friend came back last week , he said food was marginal at best, just do not know what to think!!

Sadly our trip in May was filled with a lot of "heroes to zeros" :sad2: With one exception - Via Napoli. We had a not-so-great meal there last Aug - tried it again this past May and it was fantastic. Best TS meal of our trip. :)

For us, it was Hollywood Brown Derby. It took us a long time to return. Now, we're glad we did. We feel the food definitely lives up to it's signature status.

After the refurb Tusker House (for lunch) has become my 2nd favorite restaurant on property.

I'm glad you gave it another try and enjoyed it. Last August was their first month open so I"m sure they had some things to work out. However, we also went there last August during their soft opening and enjoyed it.

As for the thread question of zero to hero: we did not like the CG the first time we went but gave it one more chance and while I did not think it was the greatest thing since Wonder Bread began slicing bread, it was very good and will go back again. :thumbsup2

And as for a zero that remained a zero: I cannot believer I was dumb enough to even give ABC Commissary another try. The kids were complaining they were hot and hungry and could not wait to leave DHS to actually eat something that was edible, I gave in. They left cooled off (great air conditioning) but still hungry; The food was just as horrible as it was the first time we tried it in August 08. My DD(13) told me to shoot her If she ever mentions that place again. :rotfl:

I have only tried the buffet version of Tusker House for lunch once, this past December. I really enjoyed it and will definitely want to return.

:rotfl2: I'm so glad you mentioned the zero that stayed a zero. I completely agree with you about ABC Commissary. I stayed away for at least 10 years but returned only when I was with a group of people who decided to eat there during a Disney fan gathering. Big mistake. It was just as craptastic as it was the previous visit years ago. I'd rather go hungry than eat there again. If I'm ever with anyone who wants to eat there, I will tell them, "Have fun. I'll meet up with you later. I'm grabbing something else, anything else!"
