Any Word On When The Nemo Ride Will Open?

We are big Nemo fans. I sure hope its open in Sept. when we surprise our three wonderful children with a trip to the world :)

ooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!!!!! This is the first time that I have heard about this. The ride will certainly be up by the time we go (early January).

So is it more of a show, or would you actually get in some sort of ride vehicle that moves around?

I've seen some posts (and pictures) on the Disneyland forum about re-filling the pond out there so they can move around the old submarines to refit them in some sort of Nemo ride. I wonder if it's the same thing as what they'd have at Living Seas in EPCOT?

Anyway, this will be a great addition to Living Seas. It's a pavilion that badly needs more new attractions besides just Turtle Talk (though I can't wait to see that as well).

John - From what I have heard the Nemo attraction in the Living Seas Pavilion will be more of a ride. There is supposedly going to be a Nemo show in Animal Kingdom that will replace the Tarzan Rocks show that closed. I'm not sure when that is schdueled to open but maybe an "insider" will have more info.

We LOVED the Turtle Talk with Crush show when we were there last Feb. I have heard the lines are ridiculously long now to see the show, but it is well worth it - definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The kids still talk about it! :thumbsup2

LilyStar, thanks for the info! Please keep us posted. We'll be there in mid-Sept. and would love to experience a soft opening.

Since this is going to be a ride and move along with a story, does anyone know if they will still be offering the DiveQuest? I really hope they keep the DiveQuest, but I wonder how unpredictable guests diving in the tank would affect the show/ride.

So does anyone have an update on this??? I read on another board that Disney is promoting an October opening so I am hoping for a soft opening in September... Has anyone heard anything???

last I heard (my work computer is running REALLY slow so I can't 100% verify, I believe it was on touringplans.com under WDW News?) the ride vehicles are being tested, as in making sure they work on the track, NOT in soft opening. They are visible from the top of the tank, looking at an angle through the water to the lower windows, and there are pictures on the site. To the best of my knowledge they are still planning on this one being open for the launch of the new celebration, and no one has heard of any delays yet.

okay, finally got the page to load, about 2/3 of the way down:

Living Seas has Omnimovement

As mentioned in an update below, work on the new ride in the Living Seas pavilion, Nemo's Undersea Adventure, is sometimes visible from the 2nd floor observation areas.

A small milestone has been recently achieved, as the vehicles have been spotted moving along the track in the tunnels. The vehicles are an omnimover style, like that of the Haunted Mansion, and move all together in a chain. The anticipation is growing for this new attaction.

I am so glad that there will be a ride in this pavillion again! When we were there last month you could see the aquarium, but you just entered through the exit.

I am glad there will be a ride too...not much too it right now unless you want to waste your life away waiting for Turtle Talk. The rest of the stuff is interesting but if you've been to a major aquarium in other parts of the country there isn't much different. This Nemo ride should make The Living Seas Pavilion worth going to again.

I just got an email from the Disney Insider newsletter tonight and it said Nemo is slated to open "early October"...so I'm hoping it will be!!

Got an email today directing me to a Disney site with info about the upcoming Nemo ride. Sounds very cool and looks like it will be opening in October:

FIND "FIN-TASTIC" NEW FUN WITH NEMO

The newest Epcot® attraction takes you and your little one into an enchanting undersea world, opening mid-October

If you're like most families with little ones, you've seen Nemo get lost and found literally hundreds of times, courtesy of your DVD player. But what do you think might have happened after the movie ended? Can you just imagine, then, how incredible it will be when you and your little guppy actually find out what it's like to live in Nemo's world—and find out what happened after the movie ended? Starting this October, you can experience it all first-hand at The Seas with Nemo & Friends, inspired by Disney-Pixar's "Finding Nemo."

Picture an endless parade of "clamobile" vehicles skimming by. You take your small child by the hand, hop aboard, and the journey begins. In a moment, you're beneath the ocean, as undulating currents cast wondrous lights and shadows on the scene. It's a bright and cheery world, just the way an inventive young mind might have dreamed it.

The gang's all here
As your clamobile glides along a stunningly beautiful coral reef, who should appear but Mr. Ray and his school of fish on a field trip. He tells us to keep an eye out for Nemo, who's off doing some exploring on his own.

You pass through scene after scene, laughing along with all the friends you and your little one have gotten to know so well, from Dory, Marlin and Crush to Bruce, Chum and Squirt. Dory does catch glimpses of Nemo, but thanks to her short-term memory, she keeps forgetting to tell her fellow fish.

Animation and reality swim together
Everyone keeps bobbing along until reaching the massive aquarium where "real world" sea creatures seem to magically exist with Nemo and his friends, who end the new adventure on a happy, song-filled note.

Of course, Crush the gnarly sea turtle is close by at his own Turtle Talk with Crush interactive show, which has already become a must-see on every family's list. He's there to field questions from humans like you, and ask a few of his own in his totally awesome style.

The Seas with Nemo & Friends promises to become an all-time favorite, in the tradition of Disney attractions that glide you through a fully immersive environment. But most of all, it's a fun and funny experience to share together

Hmmm....so if it is supposed to open Mid-October, when do you think they will be starting soft openings??? We are going mid-September...do we have a chance for a soft opening? Nemo is DD's favorite movie!!!

My Mickey Monitor came yesterday and said to watch for AP Preview dates. I'm so excited...We'll be there the 4th through the 14th of Sept. I hope the AP Preview falls sometime during our stay!

I doubt if they will have soft openings while we are there from Aug 27-Sept 3rd. However, how do you find out if they do? Do you check with concierge at your resort, or ask in Epcot?
