Due to economics and physics it will stay in the same place as it was last year. It is maintenance, retheming and possibly even some disabled friendly vehicles. The current ride is up to the ADA standards for accessibility but putting a hinged door on the side of a few vehicles would make it easier to transfer into and out of.

No not I, and gambling is immoral. If it was getting refurbed, why move it? Seems to be a lot of grunt work unless they have a new ride waiting in the wings....

Gambling is immoral? LOL You crack me up Lakewood.....
Depends on the amount of refurb that needed to be done, if they are changing ride vehicles to accommodate handicaps then they will need more space to do so.
Laurie, I'm with you. I think it will be a refurb. I'd bet you a cheeseburger and criss cut fries from TPG but we'd be betting on the same thing so it wouldn't work too well. LOL
One thing that comes to mind is the toxic chemicals and solvents they may use to clean the machinery and there is the noise of machinery that they do not want in the park. It is not a lot of grunt work as it is based on a german gun turret and the cars can easily be put on trucks to be taken back stage as can the arms that are used to lift the ride. They moved Dumbo once to its new location so why not the Astro Orbitor?
It will allow them to work at niights, use bright work lights, put up tents if it rains, and make as much noise as they want. Also the area is very small so by disassembling the ride and taking it back stage they will have lots of room to move around which will be safer for workers.
I agree, strangely not listed....yet as lakewood says when I was there last week it was just gone. The main center tower thing was there but everything else was gone. Weird. I was hoping they'd move it as it seems silly to fly a rocket several feet above ground. But we'll all just have to wait and see
If it is going to come back in it's same location, I hope at least it gets a retheme. It's the last thing that really stands out from the gold TL98 color scheme so eliminating that aspect will be an improvement at least.
I'm pretty sure they're painting it, and the reason they dismantled it is they need to fix the planets.
They stopped being fully functional after the first year or so, and they have no way of fixing the mechanics while its in tower-form. So, they dismantled it, and hopefully when it comes back, the planets will be orbiting nicely..
I thought I read somewhere that they are going to get rid of it. Did they change that idea? I was there on Sunday and yea it was gone with the exception of the middle piece.
