Any word on discounts this morning?

In my daily call to CRO regarding, I spoke with "Sprout", the most helpful CM I've ever encountered! She told me that if I check into AKL on 8/23 rather than 8/24 I could get the AP rate for my entire stay, since the rates are available on 8/23. I switched to come in a day early (leaving PBR a day early). Since I"ve becime excited about trying the Swan AND we're in "nomad" mode with all the hotel changing, we're going to only stay at AKL for 3 nights, and go to the Swan for the finall three. I'm pretty psyched about this: I get to stay onsite at USO and WDW, try the Swan and with our three free nights at the Seaworld Renaissaince on Marriott points, we will spend under $1500 tax incl. for 12 nights accomodations. My kids are happy that they get AKL, I get to try something different AND we stay on our budget. Averaging $125/night for the whole 12 days makes all the planning worth it for me. This whole trip was "extra" meaning not planned with a minimal budget. We really wanted to get one more trip out of our AP's. Ironic that we're only staying at a WDW owned hotel 3 nights out of 12!
I'm deep into my single digit dance now!!

We are hopeful for some kinda of deal for September. We have our rooms booked and plane tickets bought, but a little bit of a price break would be wonderful!

A couple of days ago I made a one day res for the WL. I asked the cm about AP rates and she said not out yet and didnt know if they would come out. I asked how buisness was and she said buisness must be good because they have them working 2 hours more in overtime. Not sure if that was for the week but sounded like 2 more hours a day.

Hard for me to believe Sept is filling up. Sep is usually a very low month. But then I just read an article on MSNBC which said Americans have not and are not traveling to Europe in large numbers and staying home and vacationing at home.

WDW has a record of our trips . . .

Gee Gary M - WDW should comp your room just like the casino/hotels do for their frequent customers. You're a sure bet for them. ;)

Tink61, I tried to tell WDW they should comp us, but they won't even give us a good room only discount. We do have two reserved trips planned to Vegas this winter.:bounce:

I did write to AL Weiss, at WDW, a few weeks ago about no room only discounts. I received a call from a nice lady who told me they are aware of no room only discounts and look for the Mickey Monitor. The Monitor is here and gone with no discounts.

Maybe, all that are looking for room only discounts should write to Mr. Weiss.

I called the Swan today and asked about rates for Oct 1 to 6. No rooms open on Oct 1, I could have gotten it for the rest of the stay. I already bought airline tickets, so my dates are set. I was hoping for a good AP rate at BW. So I gave in and called CRO and got a CBR waterview for $118 plus tax, AAA rate. The cm said she doesn't know why the AP rates are so late but to call back when they come out and have it applied to my reservation. One strange thing - I got a WDTC res, $100 deposit with a 5 day cancellation, rest due at check-in. I repeated that over to make sure she had it right. She had alot of trouble with her computer she said they just installed a new system. Maybe that's why the rates are late.

Not to beat a dead horse with Spar....but

When you book at ASM or one of those, Disney will think that people arent staying at the deluxe resorts because its cheaper at ASM and will then release AP rates for a deluxe. This is how it worked for us last year...Believe it or not, the last week of Aug is considered value for Deluxe resorts.

Im just hoping we get some sort of discount for March!! Im not holding my breath though cause it will be near spring break time!

Forgot to ask....Technically you didnt have to own an annual pass at the time of reservations last year....Do you HAVE to own one now when you call in, or can you get away with purchasing it before you leave like two months in advance for shipment reasons?

Hi-
I've had 2 different answers from CRO in the last week. One CM said you HAVE to give your AP number at the time you make the reservation to qualify for room discounts....the other said you just show your AP at check-in. The consensus on the boards seems to be that you just need to show the AP at check-in (this makes much more sense to me). I can purchase an AP at my local Disneystore for $399 (new rate they quoted me last week).
Hope this helps!

TTFN!:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Still no AP rates past Aug 23 out, but I was told that there may be hope for next week.

Hate to be sarcastic, but I've heard that line last week, the week before that, the week before that, ..... but I will keep trying.

Hi I just talked to a CM and she said they are waiting for the "contract" before releasing AP rates. Not sure what the "contract" is but if anyone else calls and wants to ask about it ..just post here if you have any more info then I got.

Is hope fading....
Is the pixie dust not so bright anymore??
It just doesn't seem right...
Make us wait so long and consider cheaper options

What are they thinking???? (not about us)

Sorry so bummed today but how much longer can I do this....

I need to make reservations at the Contemporary - rooms are running out. If FL resident or AP rates come out before our trip (October) will they adjust the rate?

They will adjust the rate only if they have rooms available at the Contemporary at the discount rate. If it's soldout, you would not get the discount.

And if the resort is already running out of rooms, its unlikely that a discount will be offered at all....

FL RES Rates are out. Go to Disney site and click FL RES.

So....if Florida Res. rates are out does this mean AP or room only codes might soon be following????? I know wishful thinking and getting my hopes up!:o
